25'th Anniversary....and no plans. :(

Quebec City , nice restaurants, some scenic views , variety of hotels and rates , lots of history . Maybe remind some Frenchies we kicked thier ass 200 yrs ago on the Plains and they should be nicer to us ?

Banff ( stay at an ABnB in Canmore) ,even rich people can’t afford Banff hotels , good restaurants, amazing hikes .
Point Pele , cheap hotels , further south than the north corner of California ( look at the map) some wineries , take binoculars and pretend you like birding .

Congrats on both anniversaries Joe and PP , it’s a milestone less and less see these days . In my tight circle of ten couples , wife and I are the only ones on first try . Not they we don’t try over the years to be in the other group …..

I stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel about 3 years ago, probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Didn’t think much of the town, it’s just become another tourist trap so I basically spent 3 days without leaving the hotel. Really nice place if you can afford it. I wouldn’t rule out a night or two at The Royal York, it’s actually a quite nice hotel to stay at if your catching a show in the city.

If you don’t have a problem with the States, a weekend in Boston would be at the top of my list for a weekend getaway. Porter does weekend packages including hotel that fly out of the island airport.You can’t take the GO Train with your carry-on luggage to Union Station and take a shuttle to the island airport. You can drive but it takes about 9 hours, traffic is crazy but once your there you don’t need a car, you can pretty much walk to everything.Weather is starting to get real nice there right about now.
 
Another vote for Quebec City...

I will throw this one out there... Niagara Falls/NOTL. Do some of the tourist stuff, enjoy the parks and trails do the wine tour thing....

There wasn't one to be honest. We were in our 20's, had just bought a house, had 2 kids, my wife worked a lot of hours and I'd just started a new job, so there just wasn't time. We did a night at a cabin after the wedding and that was really about it.

We've been to Boston 4 or 5 times now. Love the city, but yeah, we're excluding the US right now - they don't deserve our dollars, and I'm sticking to my guns on that.

Hate to say it, but we've also been to Quebec City lots of times as well, at late as last summer for that matter.

We've been incredibly lucky/blessed to have travelled North America quite extensively, which makes it harder for trying to come up with plans like this and pick a spot on the map that we haven't been to already, sometimes multiple times.

Hmmmm. That's interesting actually, we've been before (twice), but never as a true destination, just passing through on various motorcycle trips over the years.

I'll look into that some more, that could be of interest to my wife as well. :)

Hmmmm. That's interesting actually, we've been before (twice), but never as a true destination, just passing through on various motorcycle trips over the years.

I'll look into that some more, that could be of interest to my wife as well. :)

I was going to say Quebec City..................., but half the posters beat me to it.

I grew up in Montreal. Beautiful this time of year, lots to see, great restaurants.
 
Hey Congrats. Squeeze and I went back to Greece for our 25th. Had a ball on a rented twist-n-go scooter. Sadly 5 days isn't gonna cut it and yes you are correct 3-4 days on the Rock is no where near enough (It took us 3 weeks)

Any interest in a road trip of quirky sites? Between Ron Brown's books on unusual sites, Atlas Obscura and Roadside America(Canada) I could full a week.

This year is our 40th. The Manx GP on the I.O.M. will have to do.

Our honeymoon was at Minaki Lodge, near the Manitoba border, which was a five star Four Seasons hotel, back in the day. Sadly, it’s changed hands, and burned down several times, since then. If you can get into one of the Algonquin Park lodges, they’re very nice.

So someone is impacted by orange stupidity, maybe more than most of us, and they should just live their life? Is that suck it up?

Personally I hold everyone in high regard that is standing up for Canada with their actions, on their own accord, in anyway they can these days. We need more of that and less sell outs.

So you would look down on anyone going to the states for a vacation?

I would think most people that have and had travel arrangements in the states are going.
