Thanks all. Having talked to several others now the common theme is pretty much....Bell.
Bell has a long history of DNS problems that lead to these sorts of things. So this tracks as these sound like DNS issues.
If you guys can login to your modem/routers (Probably the HomeHub 3000 I'm guessing?), go to the advanced settings and change your DNS to a third party service. 1.1.1.1 is Google, but personally I'm a fan of Quad9 at 9.9.9.9 - better malware protection and fast resolving. But either option will be be better than the default Bell DNS service.
Save the settings, reboot the modem, test things for a few days and report back.
