H2O Wasaga Beach 2021

Apparently the gathering of morons is this weekend in wasaga. Avoid if possible. Will be a traffic disaster with lots of heat.

Well then I’m just gonna sit quiet at the cottage and chill the eff out with the kids.

Allenwood is far away enough that it shouldn’t be a major issue.

We’ve got the triathlon riding through right now though so kids are cheering the participants.

EDIT: wife saw 2 cars get pulled over last night, and we saw a guy with offset/tapered wheels get pulled over in his 300ZX….as his car was getting put onto a flatbed.

Anything with stretched/stanced/poked wheels is technically illegal and can be pulled off the road.

Anyone with wheels like that should be pulled over and smacked in the head, along with it being towed. :cautious:

And since a lot come for quebec for this, forcing them to pass a safety inspection prior to driving in ontario again seems reasonable. Either tow it to the border or fix it and drive it home.

I don't care, I been building my Honda all year, not missing this event for anything.

Just got back from three H20 locations. The police are letting the kids do their thing uninterrupted...which is what they should have done last year. It's a beach town...the people here are used to, and welcome events. Saw lots of locals with their children watching the cars.

The outgoing Mayor has screwed the town up beyond repair and lost the Motorcycle Event and Electric Elements Rave. She even removed the brand new Kiosk trailers each of which held a business purchased by the previous Mayor and she had them destroyed (instead of selling them or donating them to the poor).

Oh, and she's sold the main beach to a developer...so the Wasaga Beach you grew up with is going to be gone. It's going to be six level condos now.

Anyway, police stood down and EMS stood by and watched the kids have fun with cars. Motels are booked. All day very high end supercars were rolling in. So it was a good day for all.

Yup, Those doing burnouts and running from the police at high speed with pedestrians around. An endearing maneuver (especially considering the cops were on foot). Also 50 vehicles trying to start fights with homeowners at 2 am after they were told to leave the neighbourhood for being aholes. Sounds like a fun time. Who's the winner in a douchebaggery contest?

Get off my lawn doesn't apply to a beach town.

The town gladly took their money. Every hotel / motel / restaurant was booked and they (H20i) asked, and were given permission to use Canadian Tire's parking lot this time around.

It's a Beach Town and most here are used to, and welcome noisy events ie Sledfest, Bike Fest, Electric Elements Rave (all of which are gone now).

When there's thousands of kids together things are going to happen...but people move to beach towns craving excitement and expect it.

Else, there's a thousand small towns surrounding Wasaga Beach that they could be living in. Elmvale is just down the road and is plenty quiet, and plenty boring.

Here's the **** show they created in 2021 by hiring every dick with a gun and a badge at overtime pay and a helicopter which played cat and mouse with the cars all night long...the helicopter caused more noise to locals than the cars as it needed such a span to turn around it ended up waking those people on the outskirts of town all the way to Stayner.

Get off my lawn ;)

Sounds like upstanding citizens to me. The installation of speed bumps was probably an accident as Wasaga values these visitors so much. /s

The OPP is actively investigating numerous incidents in the Town of Wasaga Beach last night. We want to make it clear that this behaviour will not be tolerated. Numerous investigations are underway to identify those responsible for Highway Traffic Act infractions and mischief incidents during the overnight hours of August 27 and 28, 2022, including property damage at the Canadian Tire on 45th Street and Walmart on Stonebridge Boulevard. A break and enter is also being investigated at the Walmart.
In the early morning hours of August 28, 2022, two OPP vehicles were damaged and their windows were smashed on Beck Street and Main Street. During the incidents, officers were inside the vehicles and one vehicle also had a canine inside. Thankfully, the officers and dog were unharmed.

Upstanding citizens right there.

Bring enough idiots into one spot and it’ll happen.
Yup, it's not all of them but it's definitely the common attitude. Especially when it's organized but they intentionally don't inform the Town nor get an event permit. If they were so desired, you would think those steps could be easily taken care of.

It's especially awesome that Team DB got permission to use the CT parking lot (according to Maverick) and then some of them damaged the store. I am sure that owner is looking forward to their visit again next year. So much love for Team DB.
