Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

Heated garage and it's not snowing today
If you have the wipers on, VW sets the brake pads against the rotors with minimal force to keep them dry and ready to work. I am not sure how much of that system is mechanical and how much is pixie controlled but it seems like it could be a viable path to permanently solve your problem.

Wiper blades for the wavy disc :geek: not a bad idea at all, i might explore that.

Weather man predicts good conditions again tomorrow

Went out for a quick rip yesterday afternoon. Lakeshore from Port Hope ,up county rd 9 and back to Cobourg. didn't need to but wanted to. Keep forgetting the huge temperature difference on Hwy 28 between Bewdley and Port Hope.

I rode New Years Eve and New Years Day. Similar loops north of Pickering each day, about 80km, similar conditions, about 1°C, roads were clear and dry. Heated grips and a heated vest kept me warm and comfortable, though my toes were a bit cold when I arrived home. Fantastic to be out at this time of year!

Nice. Good for you I still just love the colors on your MV, such a good looking bike.

I got just over 20,000km. All things considered with not one of those being south of the border...I'm not complaining much.

My Last ride in 2020 was Dec 31st. (Only got a bit over 49,000 km in 2020. The last few years more like 52,000 or 53,000 km.) My first ride in 2021 was Jan 1st. Unfortunately not a lot of riding since because my neck of the woods still has some icy roads. I think tomorrow should be a decent day.

Gotta ask where you went to last year to be able to rack up 49K. Even with my trip to pickle lake as well as another loop up through the soo and around along with all the other riding I did all year I still struggled to get a little less than half that amount given the travel restrictions.

@V-Tom here I am thinking 10k a year is decent. I haven't done long trips, mainly commute to work. My coworkers that do 1k think I'm crazy riding in winter. ?

I do commute daily if there isn't ice or snow on the road (or risk of) down to -18c but thus year with C19 probably did half my usual commuting km's. (Work closed, alternate shifts etc) I actually rode a lot more when we were shut down as I would go out on little day rides and end up back home with 400 to 800 km for the day.

But I didn't get any of the longer trips in. I was planning to head to USA in May 2020. Would have gone to a bike meet in North Carolina (near the dragon) and then down to the Florida Keys and over to Louisiana (I've ridden in all the lower 48 except those two states) and then Kentucky to ride with some friends. That didn't happen with the closed border. Was going to head out to BC in fall but my new seat for my new bike wasn't going to arrive until late September and by the time it arrived heading out west was getting sketchy.

Hopefully I can do those rides in 2021. (Alaska on my radar as well as that and the rideable parts of the Territories as I haven't been up there but that will probably be 2021.)
