Ok, Now if our dollar does not suddenly increase in value relative to the US something is very wrong with the system.
A big chunk of our dollar's value is tied to demand for raw materials. The volatility in those markets is largely because the simpletons out west have never figured out how to add value to the stuff they dig, cut and pump.

A tech job out west is a pipefitter or chainsaw mechanic -- until they learn how to add value to raw materials they will suffer boom and bust cycles, and some of that will tag the dollar.

The virus doesnt just jump onto you, dont touch the elevator with your hands, use the tip of your key, dont get in if its more than a few people.....etc.....common sense.

I dont know, just thinking out loud here.
You do realize even if you’re within 6 feet of someone talking who has it your susceptible of getting it. The virus is also in the air for a maximum of three hours before it hits a surface so something like a high rise elevator could easily be infected with nobody in it. I do see your points as well, but even with a majority of the population sanitizing their hands or social distancing it won’t be enough

It wont be enough for what? Im not trying to argue, just genuinely curious as to how we are supposed to accept that eventually most of us wont contract it. I go back to my point where I say, instead of shutting down completely, can we come to some sort of plan to keep running where those of us that chose to keep going, do so, and do what we can to keep the curve at a manageable level. It was to my understanding that infection is inevitable and this will be around for a long time. I "thought" we are just trying to manage the curve at this point.....and if we "can" manage it, can we do so without a complete shut down, because we are a step ahead?

Again.....just thinking out loud. I don't claim to know sh*t. My head is spinning as it is reading various forums and the hundreds of different opinions of peers around the globe.

Edit: I didnt know you could breath it in from the air, I never heard airborn on the news.

Been doing some reading.....MotherF*cker, it CAN stay that long. FML

"if they do not have susceptible cellular structure"
Lungs pretty much operate the same in anything that breaths give or take the normal body temperature.
let me google that for you: animal human donors
"Since they are the closest relatives to humans, non-human primates were first considered as a potential organ source for xenotransplantation to humans. ... Current experiments in xenotransplantation most often use pigs as the donor, and baboons as human models."
Baboons are nasty animals.

Some of you guys actually think human beings are not just another animal don't you!

receptors......it’s the receptors stupid!

Receptors in human lungs are biochemically different than receptors in various animal lungs. Think of the virus as a key and receptors as locks. Our locks are very slightly different to pig lung locks and dog lung locks but different enough that the covid 19 keys don’t fit other locks. The virus key only opens our lock.

This read has me completely gutted lol

Even though the odds of dying are low for non-senior-citizens, there's still a small percentage of people not in the high-risk group that succumb to the disease. 51-year old man in Milton dies of COVID-19:

This does tend to happen when you eat everything crawling around on this earth.

For now, anyway.

He had Leukemia.

And it can move as fast as the wind :( you are catching on, you can't completely out run this one.

People with underlying diseases are more susceptible....but how many of you know everything that’s possibly wrong with you? Some may be prediabetic, some may have the start of leukaemia, some have damaged their lungs from work or from smoking. That’s the issue here. None of us are NASA astronauts with a complete and full medical screening history.

Just sharing an idea...

I’m using dog poop bags for situations where I have to open doors to get in or out of buildings.

One on the right hand works for me.

At approx. 2 cents a bag it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.

I buy in bulk from Amazon as I have two dogs.

30mins in air was what I read.

Good idea.

I applaud the people trying to use PPE to protect themselves but for all that is holy, throw it out properly. The parking lot at costco is beginning to look like the aftermath of a mass casualty incident with gloves and masks covering the ground.

Also, Costco now has a three pack of Spray 9 in store (not all CTC stock Spray 9, not sure if all Costco do). I threw one in each car. I like the spray and wipe plan someone posted earlier.

Decent article. I don't think this one has been posted here yet (but I could be wrong, there are a hell of a lot of posts). See that the flattening the curve options (social isolation, schools closed, etc) still overloads the UK ICU's until ~September 2020.

Super cool outbreak simulator for those that want to play with what ifs.

Reality is the authorities that be estimate around 70% of the population is going to get this before it's all said and done.

All the efforts being taken are simply to spread out the impact on the hospitals so that it can handle the load. But this is long term - this is not going to be a 2 weeks, 4 weeks, or even 8 weeks situation. Chances are by the late summer several of us in this thread will have had it, and statistically, most of us will still be here to talk about it since the *majority* of healthy individuals under the age of 60 recover. And many have very minor symptoms to begin with.

It's going to be a long year. Best we can do is accept reality, try to stay clean and push off our own infections as long as possible, and hope when we do catch it it's minor and we don't end up in the hospital.

Rinse, wash, repeat.

Wtf is wrong with people? Racism and hate against Chinese people because of the virus... What about bats? They started it.

bats didn’t conceal a world threat, that was the Chinese govt. Bats didn’t leave Wuhan in droves to all corners of the earth during an epidemic with no common sense or respect for others to start a pandemic.
