NEW 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP Announced

Not a Honda fan, but I like it. Great to see that all manufacturers are stepping up their game to get up to par with the rest. At one point it was ridiculous when a bone stock BWM S1000RR offered so much more than all the other bikes, it took a decade for all manufacturers to get the message that this is the new benchmark. In a couple of years, you'll be able to buy the latest SBK, used for under $10K, put race fairings, slip on exhaust, braided lines, maybe dyno, and it's race ready.

Why does Honda lead in MotoGP and lag in the real world? With such resources, you would think they would be setting trends...not being shamed into upping their game. Sadly, it's much too late for this bike...the scene is dead.

Honda's only leading in MotoGP because of MM93. RC213V is quite a handful that only Marquez seems able to ride. This is the bike that literally broke Lorenzo's back

Second Honda is Crutchlow in 9th, Nakagami in 13th, and Lorenzo in 19th...

Four Yamahas in the top ten.

Pedrosa and Stoner (back in the day) could ride the Hondas wheels off as well.

Last road CBR1000RR that had me looking was in 2007. Since then, it's been a very underwhelming bike. Some say, even an awkward afterthought.

Took Honda, the leader of the motorcycle racing world ten years just to catch up to BMW.

I don't like Honda for this, and other reasons. But this is the main one. Excite the masses in the racing world...deliver overpriced, underwhelming bikes to the public.

Not a company that inspires.

A lot of people don't understand Japanese culture I see.

Anyway, more competition, better for everyone.

I sold my bike and I need to stop reading this thread.

I actually want one lol

The Aprilia is a nice bike, but don't buy one unless you want to keep it for a number of years.
Very hard bike to sell. If you check there are a number of 2018 and 2017 brand new bikes still in the showroom.
The used ones on Kijiji, sellers keep dropping the price.
I think you could get a great deal on a new 17 or 18 and a better deal on a used one.

Dude, what are you talking about? "the scene"? hahaha. Fast bikes never go out of style.

He sadly has a point.

I'm on the tail end of a generation that's full of pussies. These fucks are afraid to work out because they'll get injured, you think they're gonna want to throw a leg over a motorcycle when they realize what kind of injuries they can sustain?

Who has time for bikes when you have fortnite? And Tinder swiping?

Most of the riders I know are old dudes, Im one of the young ones.

Maybe I'm on my own here but if I'm buying a 1000 today it is going to be from one of the European manufacturers.

When 21 year olds get insurance quotes of $5000 to ride a 250cc bike for 6 months can you really blame young people for not getting into the hobby?

Is it actually $5000 for 250cc? I rmb it being $2100......for my 19 year old ex like 6 years ago.

I game a lot, and had a phase for online dating too. Still rode. So I don't know wtf is wrong w/ the pussies younger than me.

Hell, I'm no even that old!...**** I'm getting old though.

Seems like its about $3K from what Ive read this past season. $500 a month to ride is a ton of money for the average 21 y/o

I am going to wait to for the CBR1000RR-R-R or RR-RR. Maybe it will have a rear spoiler for more rear end traction since this one only has front aero.

Combine the bs insurance costs with the short riding season with the speeding laws and most ppl just say fk that when it comes to the fast bikes. It don't got much to do with the "pussies", these guys act like their generations weren't full of pussies either

I ride my bike to go get a coffee and tinder swipe while I sip .........shrugs :D

5000 seems excessive for a 250 even by ontario standards, but I suspect at 19-21ish they would probably be paying around 3000, still wayyyy too much for a 250.
