... trying to recall the last time I needed more then one shot

should probably mention I'm not much of a hunter.
But I can understand the concerns of the Huge portion of the population that likes guns.
and hunting.

im not into much large game hunting for the last 10 years or so.
I still hunt grouse with the 22. The extra shots are handy, sometimes you run into 4 or more grouse together. Its also a blast to go plinking with.
My center fire rifles should be OK...lever action and bolt action.

There was an saying that if you hear one shot the hunter got the deer. Two shots is a maybe and three means the deer got away.

Maybe that's what's needed. It prevents any of them from enacting the right-wing or left-wing stupidity.

A minority would hopefully create a cooling off period and stop the pendulum swing. Unfortunately the balance of power is usually from a fringe party and they use their votes to get financing for unicorn ranches.

It would be interesting to see the two large parties get together. A pipe dream of mine.

The two large parties are a non starter, the first vote would end up triggering a "non-confidence" situation which would trigger another election.

If it's within a few seats for the PCs, there are a couple of independents and possibly some fringe party candidates that would hold incredible power -- they could be enticed by senior portfolios to cross the floor and solidify a majority. A minority for the liberals would be more challenging as those independents left the Liberals because of Trudeau, and the fringe seats will be way right or too-kooky left to offer prominent positions in parliament.

It wouldn't surprise me that the hints/story about Trudeau's teacher-student dalliances was leaked internally by those holding his puppet strings to submarine him post election. It's been painfully obvious over the last four years he wasn't propped up and trotted out for his intellect. You go play dress-up and get your picture taken, son. We'll take care of this boring paperwork and stuff.

Sheer rolled out the budget forecast and plans to balance the budget within 5 years, something the Liberals promised a few years back. Can it be done? Who knows.

Trudeau has 2 deficits to deal with - financial and character - both of which are going to get worse before they get better.

Rolled out their economic platform at the 11th hour on the Friday of a long weekend. Hardly confidence inspiring.

Not a surprise, they've been targeting this date for awhile now

It makes sense if you want to avoid a news cycle.
I guess? Not the first or last time a party has done this. I don't think it's worth fretting over.

Weren't you whining that they hadn't released their platform?

The glass is half empty. And it's cracked. And it has lipstick on it.

Where did I mention them not having an economic platform before? Think someone’s meds have worn off.

It is a bit odd though that a party running on fiscal responsibility only wants to let voters know about plans dealing with said fiscal responsibility after all debates and just as voting is about to take place. The NDP did the same thing too.

Generally as a voter I’d like to be informed about each party's detailed platform well in advance of the vote.

not all votes are confidence votes, most prominent one is a budget
not sure I agree with your thinking on minority possibilities

no one is going to help prop up a Con minority
the leftie parties will not play nice with them
and they can't be caught playing footsie with Quebecers
Alberta would scream bloody murder if they got into bed with Frenchies
in exchange for free ****, and in Quebec it's all about free ****

the Liberals will move anywhere on the spectrum to stay in power
if they form a minority, expect a coalition to be formed quickly
JT and Jagmeet likely have a handshake agreement already

I can see the PCs and PPC (if they get any representation) working together, and I can see Lib - NDP - Green co-operating, but never the two sides shall meet, unfortunately. There's no common ground between the PCs and the others. PC minority overruled by Lib - NDP - Green ganging up on them could be interesting.

Last time I checked, bernier is the only guy who polled LOWER after finally getting some coverage

Politics can make strange bedfellows. I think Bernier’s clan would reconcile with PCs if JT/JS was the other option. Also remember those 2 independent gals - they certainly are not JT fans, and can’t do diddly with an independent seat.

Huh? What do you quantify as well in advance? The debate structures were abysmal, think anyone was going to get their message out about their platforms in those shitshows?
