Port dover

Do not forget your pirate vest and greet the boys getting off the yellow school bus for their day outing.
 
Everyone motorcyclist should go to Port Dover at least one time. For me once was enough but I'm glad I went.

There's nothing appealing to me about this. Crazy traffic getting in and out just to walk around and look at bikes that are parked? It's a glorified Tim Hortons meet up.


Would rather spend the day....actually riding my bike somewhere else.

Get there early and there’s not really much traffic to worry about – we usually arrive in town before 8 AM, get a great parking spot as a result, and then go for breakfast buffet at the hotel. As for what to see, there can be some unique and interesting bikes there, as well as some classics which interest me the most.

There’s also the music, vendors, etc...

And yeah, thongman. You can’t unsee that. But in the warmer months there’s usually some boobies as well, so, hey.

There ARE some nice motorcycles to see. Hopefully it isn’t too crowded.

Unless it hits mid 20's, which is unlikely, I wouldn't expect it to be for the first PD13 this year. The fair weather casual riders won't even have their bikes out of storage yet, much less be going to Dover.

The second one this year in July, however, I expect to be a full blown zoo. I'm actually on vacation that week so I may throw the tent on the bike a spend a night there to catch the bands.

I feel exactly the same way. Make a ride that takes you to many curvy roads before you get there.
Nothing to see there. Harley *******. If you can read this T-shirt the ***** fell off. No, she jumped off.

It's still worth going. There will a few bikes you like to see there, no matter what you like.

They say when trying new cuisine to always take two bites as some times your first impression is more of a reaction to the surprise of something rather than an actual opinion one way or the other. When I first went to Dover many years ago, I kept that in mind. I went, filed in, walked around shoulder to shoulder with a bazillion other people, saw the merchandise, saw the bands, saw the line-ups for everything, bought a patch and left. Hated it. Still hated it. But at least I was SURE that I hated it!

Since then, if I get a Friday the 13th off work, I try and plan a nice ride to somewhere I haven't been or something I haven't seen in stead and enjoy my day.
