Hamilton toughies (vid)

Is the 24 yo that got charged part of the shoe gang or mall staff?

Shoe Gang... I assume it's this Tyler Rizzi character, he apparently has an penchant for being video taped while scuffling with mall security. But seriously, mall cops got a few shots in, as did the little punks. Show stops there IMO.

damn! punch of softies that can't even throw a punch or kick.

It's never like a professional fight. Just like street racing it always looks super gay.

One guy should work with mr purple while the other push the others away. Never turn your back on your enemies, never

they arent enemies, they are the public. !!!!!

however wrong they might be, the guards still have to remember that.

once they got them out of the building, ( and that was done without incident ) they should have locked the doors and watched them pedal/skate away.

I guess the company better start training/paying their guys better.. I'd be surprised if these punks ever serve a day in a correctional facility. Might get some hugs though.

Edit: I wouldn't want this posted on youtube whether I was one of the guards or one of the punks btw... The only benefit is that it made it a lot easier to nab the morons

I want to agree with you on paying/training their security guys better, but the concept of security guards in general is quite superficial. They aren't allowed to do much more than a common citizen (rightfully so with the current low barrier to entry career path) and are paid a sliver over minimum wage - a good argument for why they should bother doing anything over their pay grade.

Easy for everyone here to play armchair quarterback (myself included). I ask myself though... if I were in their shoes (the guards) and on camera.. what could I do differently?

1. Let the punks carry on and watch idly = Fired from job
2. Try and do something about it.. potentially provoking a fight = Most likely Fired/Replaced due to "cant handle the job constraints"

Looking more closely at the video.. at 49 secs the guard knees the man (white shirt) in the back, which prompts the purple shirt man to punch him square in the face. Kind of a d!ick move on the part of the guard too.

I didn't like the fact that the guards escalated the situation and that they turned their attention to the guy in white while completely neglecting the guy in purple, which resulted in stitches and concussion. They obviously didn't receive proper training for handling physical confrontations (or diffusing them for that matter lol)

Doesn't matter what they are when you get a shoe to your head & sends you to the hospital

typical mall cop attitude got him the shoe to the head. they escorted themn out, done deal. they should have walked back inside and called it a day

This vid should be used as a reference on what not to do for anybody in this position..... don't *ever* foolishly turn your back on a perpetrator. Esp after you just finished jostling with him and tempers and adrenaline are high.

Pffff, what's wrong with batons?

Sent from my tablet using my paws

Most security guards I'm familiar with shouldn't be issued anything above and beyond a rape whistle

if they blew the whistles and twirled the batons would they also have to march everywhere?

that BMX punk is a dip **** looking for a fight to post on youtube.
here's what happened inside the mall before the fight:

Dunno seemed like the guards were equally being dip *****. Guy said he will go and don't touch him. What does the guard do? Moves forward and touches him.

except the guard, stupid move or not, had a legal right to use as much force as necessary to remove the guy from the property.

I don't think it is "as much force as necessary", but I did find a few things.

Edit again.

This seems to be on topic.

"There is also the Criminal Code of Canada, which is a federal law and applies in all provinces and territories, regardless of whether they have trespassing statutes of their own. It doesn't give property owners and security guards authority to arrest or prosecute persons for trespassing, or to exact monetary damages, but it does give them legal authority to physically remove trespassers. This power is found in section 41 of the Code, which says that a person in peaceable possession of a dwelling-house or real property (which is to say, everyone who owns or rents or has control over a home, or any land, or any buildings attached to land), or a person who is acting under his or her authority (such as a security guard), is allowed to use reasonable force to remove trespassers. So, if a person is trespassing on property and won't leave voluntarily, a guard would have legal justification under this section to use reasonable force to remove him or her."

The court has to decide what is reasonable. If the security guard picked up the bike and started to walk it briskly to the door while repeating "I'm removing your property under CC 42....." it would have been a different fight.
