Somebody knocked my bike over in a parking lot

So last night (August 7) I was at turtle jacks in Brampton, airport and north park, for a surprise anniversary thing. Because it was a surprise I parked a little further away then I normally would have, normally I would have pulled right up, but the couple knows my bike and I didn't wanna ruin it . so I'm in the restaurant for 3 hours. I came out and saw my mirror folded in, thought somebody was messing around, then I saw the lens from my signal on the ground and then all the scratches and cracks on the bike. Had her parked towards the back of the parking space so that ppl would see the tail and not run her over but that didn't work. Guess buddy tried to park, knocked her over, then picked her up and took off! No cameras, no witness. I'm just screwed, and ****** . No real point to this post but if anyone has any help lemme hear it. I filed a police report but they basically told be I'm gonna be SOL

yup, SOL

You did the right thing by parking at the end of the spot so cars would see you, but you did the wrong thing by parking in Brampton.

Carry Neon pylons with you and surround the bike next time.

Can't promise this will work, but worth a shot.

Sucks that happened, but you are SOL. Hopefully the damage ain't to bad.

You're not completely SOL. Use your insurance, and get it all fixed up. That's why you pay for it. Don't get me wrong - I'd be uber ****** & sad about it too...

Just a fyi for guys worried about got and runs.. A paging alarm would have alerted you so you could come out and get details of the bad driver.. Also it will make people look and maybe take note what's going on..

Technically speaking entering the Brampton city limits was the wrong thing...lol

Bikes are not for parking lots

Brampton? Again? Jesus!

Didn't you get the memo? Brampton is the new Markham.

Fell to left side? Did you front-in to the spot?

I honestly do not see how this can happen (well I can you have to be a ****** driver to do it). If you're front parking into a spot the only way you can hit a bike is if you're flying into the spot, which you have to be an absolute moron to do. And if you're back parking into the spot, you have to pass the spot first in order to reverse into it, so you'd see the bike. Some drivers, I swear. You have to be mentally incompetent to do simple things like putting a hunk of metal between two lines.

Grammatical errors excluded the A-H driver attitude pretty much explains it. However it happens to cages all the time as well so visibility, object size is partially irelevent.

Wife's car got the same treatment a few years ago. In her case she didn't notice the passenger side rear panel caved in until she got home. Buicks don't tip over.

If they catch the hit/run they should be made to pay out of their own pocket but still get it registered as a claim on their insurance. Double whammy Also Criminal charges. The trouble is that witnesses don't want to get involved.

If he claims this on insurance, they will jack his rates through the roof and recover more than the actual damage.

Isn't insurance great? You're forced to have it thanks to

, and then when you have something happen they charge you more to reclaim more money to cover what was lost. I think I'm going to change jobs and go into insurance and make the real big bucks! Anyone want to join? lol

You sure about that? I had a hit and run on my car this winter, had to claim as the damage was quite a bit. I needed to go to a police reporting centre and have pics taken etc and I called insurance to double check the procedure and see if rates would change. My rates didn't change but I did have to pay the deductible and this is a not at fault claim.
