Hardwired USB weatherproof charger

Just order from GPS city. Fast shipping, inexpensive, reliable. I've had one for 3 years now.

Possibly radio world then. Seeing as lightcycle got it at gps city.

Tbh. I have no idea what your talking about.

I have no idea at all what any part of your post means.

I'm actually thinking of getting the 'lite' version myself -- I don't need to charge a tablet and apparently the lite has a much lower draw when not in use.

Also check Motorcycle Innovations. A Google search should bring him up. You may get free delivery dependant on where you are located.

Check Canadian Tire. Part number 037-4494-4. Weatherproof USB receptacle with mounting bracket. I have one in my parts bin but can't find it in the catalog online.

I bought mine on eBay, sae connector to plug into my battery tender cable via extension into my tank bag. 1000mah cost me about 20 dollars.

EnglishJ sports the Gpbikes version.

Bought it. Doesn't charge my iphone but it's output has +5V. I wonder if it's what djltoronto described a while ago

If you have a USB power source that has both the data pins left open, all you need to do is bridge those 2 pins together (short them), and that will tell the device charging (iPhone) that it's OK to pull the required current.

My first time, I added a 100kohm resistor... but later realized it's completely not required. Only the 2 data pins need to be shorted - and that works 100% - with all devices. I have moded several... but lately, most of the chinese knock off chargers come with the data pins already shorted.

here's the first one I did..

Kinda blows if I have to cut open a waterproof device.

Instead of modifying the outlet, why don't you modify the specific iPhone charging cable? Kinda like this one you can buy: http://matias.ca/tuneblocker/

But instead, do it yourself on an existing sync/charge cable by removing the middle two pins in the cable: http://pinouts.ru/Slots/USB_pinout.shtml

I always buy those cheap DUAL 2.1amp waterproof fast charger USB ports from Aliexpress. I have 8 ports on my bike total (so 4 units) and they all work flawless. I don't own iAnything so dunno if it'll charge your iPoone.

Because then I have to have a specific cable for that charger. I misplace stuff all the time. That's why I wanted a hardwired charger.

The two data pins have to be shorted not removed.

I already cut it. Lots of goop should make it as good as new.
