Get a CBR929 all the way! New R/R and manual cam chain tensioner and you're good to go! Absolute wheelie MACHINE
Loved that bike, even more than my current R1!!!

The ZX7R was the bike I lusted after as a kid. The CBR is a better bike in every way, but I'd get a ZX7R over the 929 because they look so much older.

With out doubt. 929
To me the ZX7 is ubbt ugly.
Plus the 929 is a better bike.
That thing power wheelies in the first 3 gears without trying.
Reliability of a Honda should win in this case.
I've ridden a 929 a few times and owned two zx7's. Hands down looks goes to the ninja. If you want comfort after two hours of riding buy the honda.

I must have the worst taste in the world! i think this bike is so ugly
It's not for everyone. Personally I hate the new 636's and the new cbr's. They could be the best bikes in the world but they still fugly![]()
I've ridden both quite a bit. The CBR wins in every possible way.
BUT......The ZX7 is still a nice bike if you can get on with the riding position which is a bit more extreme (unless you're talking about a 1990 ZX7 which is like a touring bike by comparison). The ZX7 is really stable and feels like a tank...
I dunno ... I certainly don't like working on carb'ed bikes with pressurized airboxes. And early FI systems are pretty simple themselves - the thing that most people actually don't like about FI vs carbs is that it's more complicated to tune.
I know you could argue this about nearly every sportbike in existence, but doesn't the ZX7 have a reputation for a weak transmission?
