How to transfer a clean title track bike with bill of sale only?

I got a Turn 2 bike as well, now you got me thinking what are you going to do with the ownership if you get it, what is the benefit to having the ownership aside from taking it across the border? Is not a bill of sale sufficent?

Turn 2 is no longer in business so what would my options be?
With a bill of sale you have no real way of proving you didn't go over the border, buy the bike, and come back. It's been tried before and it is a huge hassle.

Assuming your bike was also never registered(check it with MTO), your options would be the same as already mentioned.

Even for a track only bike, it is nice to have legal documents stating that you own the bike.

His 8th post since 2006, lol :)

As far as I know, couple of years ago all post counters were reset to zero. I've been seeing other people from 2006/2007/2008 making their "first" post recently, which is an even louder LOL :)

Back on topic---I don't have experience with buying bikes without papers, but I know I'll never do it personally. If it ain't in my name, it ain't mine.

Meh, I think all of my track bikes only one of them had papers with it.

If i know the history of the bike, or the person selling it im okay with it.

Bill of sale and your golden. Plus you can cross the border with a bike without papers, you have to get a Y38 form from customs and bring the bill of sale with you.
Its good for the life of the bike.

Where it was registered when new, in us? If it was get the vin and request title from any title service company in states if it comes out with brand (track only) if clean you are lucky. If it was bought new in ontario there is no way it wasnt registered unless frame has no vin stamped.

I received the NVIS document with mine. As far as I'm concerned the NVIS + bill of sale is as good as an MTO ownership. The only risk I see is if someone takes my VIN and registers it out from under me. If that happened it would be a failure by MTO to verify ownership. According to their own rules they require the NVIS to register an unregistered vehicle.

But then again possession is 9/10 of the law.
