Cops at the Forks yesterday...

It was at the 180deg hairpin going uphill. I've nowhere near the skills required to take that corner fast. OPP was right at the apex.

Cops arent trying to get you right where they are parked. I would expect they are watching for those that are coming to the hairpin hard up/down the hill that are hard on the brakes to get around the hairpin.

before and after there is ample room for people to significantly exceed any posted limits

Anyone was able to scrape left knee (suit) uphill on that hairpin?

That's what I meant. It's the lead up that would get me in trouble.

Also people aren't supposed to park beside the tracks there. There are signs in the lot. Cops sitting in the middle are most likely waiting to nail you coming up because you can't see until last minute but thy can hear you from a mile away. That road still sucks and I don't get everyone's fascination with it.

To be fair, when you consider the other roads in the immediate vicinity, it's much more entertaining. If you're passing through the area you may as well hit the forks, but don't expect to go through quickly. Relax, and enjoy some time spent off your crowns.

It depends. If you like to hike trails, then it is a destination because of the provincial park. A nice country ride, some coffee then off to hiking. I've only ever been there once that I can clearly remember and it was via car.

For other people, it might be because the forks is on a list of ontario roads that don't suck to ride on a bike and they go to see for themselves.
