Decided to verify the hype that Pit Bull stands are so much better, so I bought one. But I have to wait till Saturday to try it out because I have the wheels off and I removed the tires, I'll have the new tires on Saturday, the bike is resting peacefully on my good old normal stand, which has done the job perfectly for a long time. I just wanna see what's so good about the pit bull, its a piece of metal for god's sake.. {End of message}
 
I'm on the edge of my seat man, can't wait for chapter II.
 
honestly, i find their stands to be heavy and tough to put the bike on the rear compared to stands like the hindle or those generic black ones with the long handles....those ones have much better leverage.

I have the pit bull stands. But I use the gorilla stem stand for the front as tire changes are easier.


Pit bull trailer restraint...now that is pure awesomeness. I can't hype that enough

I have a rear pitbull stand. It's pretty solid compared to my cheapy front stand that cost me $50, now that is slowly bending. I do believe it will out last my bike.
 
Yeah, it's just a hunk of metal. But, it's solid. And, you're supporting manufacturing jobs in N. America, as opposed to Asian, cheap knock-offs.

I have both front & rear Pit Bull stands. No complaints. Was originally going to buy a paddock stand (like the one pic below). But, the prob with the paddock is that it's too bike specific (pic below). Pit Bulls, OTOH, can fit just about any bike out there. So, I don't have to worry about buying a new set of stands if I were to upgrade my bike in the future.

Just remembered I hadn't tried the Pit Bull stand yet, so I just did. Pretty nice actually. Lines up easier with the spools (due to bigger wheels than my other stands maybe), but definitely sturdier. Not that my other stands are not sturdy, but the Pit Bull does provide the feeling like the bike is a permanent structure with the floor. Not bad, not bad---I'll definitely appreciate the easier lining up at the track---there's nothing harder in a track day than coming out of a session totally exhausted, sweating and feeling your pulse in the helmet, and struggling to align the stand and lift the bike.

No, not at all, I'll ruin them. But I'll use up the Q3 very quickly (3 or at most 4 trackdays), after which I'll get GPA's and back to dragging a genny and warmers with me. I wanna work on a few things about my technique on the Q3 without being distracted by warmers and optimal tire temps, etc.
 
The pitbull stands are just built better. Everything is welded, strong etc. Its just BEEFY.

I have a few sets of stand, and the problem with those cheap china stands is that - they tend to bend and have lots of slop. Now for the $50-$60...its an amazing deal if you just want to use it for general maintenance. If the seams are welded on the bolt-togeather china stands - they are much better.

But nothing like a pitbull stand.
