Hi all,
I parked my 49cc scooter on a Toronto sidewalk and found the dreaded $60 ticket attached to the seat two days ago. Moral of the story: don't park on sidewalks!! The infraction was "parked on sidewalk".
Having done a lot of research afterwards, I found that there is a lot of misinformation out there.
I parked my scooter at a green-p on-street parking area today, and found a yellow sticky from a rider, very kindly asking me to park on a sidewalk because it's allowed, and to leave space instead for motorbikes. Moral of the story: scooters can't park on sidewalks and unfortunately, we are going to have to share until our mayor and councillors change the rules, if they ever do.
I hope this helps inform other scooter riders before they pay get hit with $60 fine and bikers to be more understanding of why a scooter is parked on-street!
Thanks
