I just mounted my Dunlop Sportmax GP-A's
They have an arrow for direction on both side walls. The only problem is that they both point different directions. I think I mounted it backwards because the tread pattern is opposite of the rear wheel??????

What gives?

The tire also has compound markings in colour.
The colour maker is orange. I mounted in the orange direction.
The other colour is yellow.
The yellow marker shows to mount the other direction????

Can these tyres be mounted as a front or a rear and depending on where it is mounted you use a different colour arrow???????

Not sure for your particular tire, but I found this on the Dunlop site...

Many Dunlop motorcycle tire patterns have “reversed front patterns” compared to rear, because different forces act on front and rear tires. We test all Dunlop tires for satisfactory wet performance in the direction as indicated on the sidewall. It is important to always mount the tire in the correct direction of rotation as indicated by the arrow on the sidewall.

Maybe they're not the direction arrows and refer to something else? I had a set of Michelins that used VERY stylized "arrows" to indicate direction. More like jagged, one-sided swooshes.

were they installed at suzuki of newmarket? that would explain it lol

The tread pattern is opposite when mounted the way I put them. ie. chevrons going forward on the rear, chevrons going backwards on the front.
The arrows are both on the front tire, and both sides say, if mounted on the front, rotations this way.
But both arrows contradicts the other?????

I don't know, if mounted the way I have it, the water will be channeled toward the center of the tire. Not outwards and away.

Tires backwards, if the arrow points back.
If the tire is swapped around on that rim it would point forward right.

Every image on the Dunlop page shows it facing the way I mounted them??
