FINALLY!... Got to take my first real ride after buying the Ninja 250 3 1/2 weeks ago

All of a sudden the Love Boat song came to my mind. Hehe

Love... Exciting and new... ;) LOL

The guy who say's he's happily married and not interested is the guy who gets the date eh? lol

I have a feeling it's going to take me a good long time to get to work tomorrow morning....

Nice little ride for a first one out. You are correct, it will take you longer to get to work when using the bike. My problem, before I retired, was that I could never ride straight home. I used to work at Yonge / Sheppard and more than once found myself in Collingwood or Thornbury on my way home to Orangeville.

Next time you are out head a little farther west to Creemore and then keep going west over to 124. Then turn around and head back, it is a great section of road if you want to practice some twisties. I know a few more up that way, so once you have more practice let me know and I can give you directions.

Easy guys, easy. It is not a date - just helping the fellow rider out. Does not matter to me if rider is male or female. Can't quite call it mentoring but I do enjoy being situational mentor and always happy to share whatever knowledge and experience I have.
And I am not just saying - have been happily married for 10+ years and not looking to change.

So true - I mentioned it in couple of other threads: I increased my Fri commute to and from Mississauga by about 100 km. Before it was straight 401, about 34 km one way. Now I am going up north on 404 to Bloomington, Bloomington to Dufferin, Dufferin to hwy 9, hwy 9 to Airport rd, Airport to Hockley, Hockly to hwy 10, hit the Forks, on Mississauga rd and I am in the office. Just have to wake up a little bit early which is not a problem for me as my dogs tend to think 5-6 am is a perfect time for everyone to wake up.

Hahaha no worries Bro! I'm just teasing both you and Jinni, cuz I know you're good people and have a great sense of humor.

PS. I'm happily married for 18 years and not interested in dating. Who's interested in learning what I have to share. ;) :p

i know i know - it's all in good spirit :-)

Speaking of that, the very first time that I went out on the roads, I just went to a parking lot 5 km (maybe not even) away. And as I was parking, there were two guys came up and said "is it a ninja? nice bike!" (seperate events.)

Your bike is sexy so be prepared to be checked out a lot. lol!

I agree, the bike is sexy. However, I can assure the rest of the people here they would definitely come up to you on a scooter as well. I'd be willing to bet they'd come up to you if you were just doing circles on a mountain bike :p

Thanks I used to go to a Creemore all the time about 12 years ago. I'll have to check it out on the bike :D

I bought a rain suit and waterproof gloves. If it looks like it is most likely going to rain, i bring them with me in a backpack. Weighs all of 1 pound. Great investment. Not so bad getting caught in the rain on a hot summer day, but in the spring or fall it can be brutally cold.

For colder temps I use waterproof and windproof 3/4 cordura jacket. But days between seasons can be tricky - cold in the morning/evening, ot day and cold at night. So my rain gear doubles as a windbreaker - works great, keeps chill out.

Thomas you are too kind :)... Pics lie and it wouldnt matter when you have a full face helmet on lol!

Damed hell....WHY IS EVERYONE OUT ON THEIR BIKES.....I need to get one too :P...

Any ways..congrats on the first ride

OK. I suppose maybe the red and gold bike had something to do with it. :P

I have to confess, after I saw the pic of your bike, I realized that I still prefer the lime green over any other colours although I don't mind my red.

Well, I would have to agree with that. I think the red/gold mix on yours is pretty stellar though. You could always do a graphic wrap... I may be, although I wouldn't mind seeing how they look in person first.

Just be careful were you get it done.. the lowest price is not always the best deal. My car is wrapped and I have a fair bit of experience with this, chat with me and I can tell you a few places to go and a few places NOT to go..

Hey Luc thanks for the tips. My friends dad does wraps so him and I are probably going to do it. Not sure I even want to yet. But if you want to PM the shops you suggest I'd appreciate it. (maybe even a ballpark $$ that it costs for a full car wrap would be nice)

I couldn't make it out tonight (painting my house, ugh) but I'll stop by the group some time!

Does your friends Dad have a shop? or he just does it at home?
