As I enter my 7th season, and continue to cultivate a healthy mistrust of all things on 4 wheels in the city of Toronto, I find myself taking pictures of the license plates of parked cars that could potentially hit me as they leave. I know this is a bit paranoid, but it would be nice to have some sort of lead should I ever return to a capsized bike. Anyone else do this or anything else on the cautious side to try to fend off evil cagers?

This mistrust is well founded, though I don't think a photo will do. I'd try two motion sensor cameras pointing to the cars. If and when they move, you get your shot. An infrared or echo proximity sensor coupled with the wail of your horn MIGHT get their attention before they do damage.
Hang on...you park your motorcycle near a car that could potentially hit your bike while parked....and you take a picture of the parked car?
Why wouldn't you just park in a safer spot?
How do you know if that's the car that hit your bike? Cars move around constantly.. Man, you need to worry about something bigger..
