taking apart a 2000 R6

I am planning to take my bike apart and rebuild it, while deep cleaning a full rust/sludge removal to replacing parts that could use repair. My goal is to make the bike look "showroom" condition before spring riding season comes around, and while I will also be replacing or upgrading some exterior aftermarket parts; chain, windshield, frame sliders, rim tape, flush mount lights etc (list goes on). What's the price tag I could make an easy sell at used? I am thinking $3500-$4000 considering how mint its going to look -- not to mention, the odometer has ~35K on the bike. If I sold the bike as is, I would ask around ~$2500.00

You're not going to make any money putting that kind of time and effort into it, and replacing those parts.

You do maintenance like that for yourself, not really for resale value.

I'd say degrease it, clean it up, and replace only what is necessary for safety. Wear and tear on an 11 year old bike is expected by a potential buyer...

I don't think I've ever really made money on selling a bike... broken even, nearly... but you never get compensated for the time and effort you've invested; that you do because you enjoy it as a hobby.

LOL @taking apart 2000 R6 to sell JOKES

You're not going to make $1500 on top of its current value for washing it, putting on a new chain, flush mounts and rim tape.

Oh, hold on, He's putting RIM TAPE!!!

That add $3,000 bucks.

yea, no way u'll make anywhere close to $4k with a bike that old and 35k km

People like you are the problem with Ontario used bike prices...

No matter how "mint" you think it is, does not make it worth more than double it's actual value.
