Is there a way to get live TV on XBMC on Apple TV ?
I was told there was a way to get live TV as well as PPV UFC ???

It should have MythTV integration, but live TV is so last millennium.. Being a slave to the TV network's schedule and having to put up with commercials.....
 
AFAIK they added PVR support (which I guess means live stream?) to XBMC in the new version (Frodo) which is currently RC3. You would still of course need to have the ATSC tuner card or similar though to pull it into XBMC though.
 
Yes. <link> You need a capture card of some kind, and there are devices which are kinda stand alone which work with it too. (ex: Hauppauge hd pvr)

there's also another add-on called navi-x <link> From what i gather it's a P2P streaming add-on. I think you can get live tv through that as well. (no capture card required)

check youtube for some demos.

PS. I'm just looking into this stuff now and I know nothing about apple tv so can't help you with that.
 
You'd have to have a backend server for recording live TV, ATV won't do it by itself. Supposed to be possible with the new version of XBMC, but I'm not up to speed on it yet. Need to switch before long, my current PVR software was bought by google almost 2 years ago and subsequently killed.
