I'm toodlling down a back road (posted at 80kph) and come upon a black SUV and decide to pass. I'm beside him when I notice the tone on tone police decals and all the electronics bristling inside. A glance at the digital speedo says 129, so I pull in front and hold it around 110 waiting for the lights to come on.

After what seams like forever the next concession shows up and I hang a left. He turns left as well. I try to keep it just above 80, all the time wondering when he's going to end the cat and mouse game and light em up.

Eventually I get to the next stop sign and hang a left but he goes straight thru.

Question - when you're beside his door at almost 50 over would you have done the same or aborted and dropped back in behind.
 
I really think you got lucky on that one. You played it right and followed through with it. I think backing off would have made it worse lol. Who knows maybe he punched in your plates, didnt see anything major and said forget it. lol. play the lotto tomorrow

Should have taken a right and gone straight to the Casino and put it all on the closest colour that matches on roulette. Horseshoes man, horseshoes.
 
i dont get it... people say to go buy lotto, go to casino

but in my books, THAT RIGHT THERE wouldve used up all your luck for the night lol

Was this at night?

Any dark coloured SUV would give me second thoughts about passing!
 
I've had that happen a few times but the worst is when you pass a car only to see an OPP standing straight ahead with a radar gun. When I've done this I've never been pulled over (knock on wood)...and with dark SUVs...always look for little antennas on the roof! Also you can sometimes see bars inside if you look straight through the rear window.

I didn't have a choice, he actually turned his lights on when we were going side by side (I didn't realise it was an undie although I should have). I thought it was going to get impounded that was the first day I got my brand new bike too! But he then turned it off and proceeded to pass me so I called it a night. I guess that was his way of telling me to slow the eff down.

The heart attack that accompanies it usually does ahah

4-5 years back, had a similar situation once, cruising 125 on 401 going to quebec at night.
I then get passed by 2 crazy mofos going 'impound me' speeds.
I start following them at a slower speed for about 2 km and then lose sight of them as theyre going too fast.
So im prolly 40 over at that point and an SUV is following me but no clue what it is. So i pass a car and then slow down to 130-135,
suv still following me.

Then after 1 minutes of following me, he zooms past me and i then see the 'police' lettering and my heart stops as i piss my pants (as he couldve stopped me easily for the 40 over)

3 minutes later i see cherries up ahead in the distance and 2 cars stopped lol, he went for the bigger catch.

What i learned, the extra half hour you gain by speeding more is not worth it!

Maybe he bigger fish at that time... That officer wasn't on traffic or was at the end of their shift. Anyways glad you had a better day than it could have been lol.
 
I've had a similar experience only I was annoying the heck outta him....

I was going west on dundas and there was crown victoria taxi cab on my 6 and this integra with fart can on the front....i was ****** from work or something and I was determined that night to not let this cab pass me by....I tried lane blocking , speeding then braking hard...pretty much any thing to stop the guy....for some reason I felt he wanted to pass me by as well so it was game on...

finally 2-3 blocks later he manages to get by me...turns out the crown vicky is a cop car not a cab....lights up his ride ahead of me and stops that integra....
