Winterizing

I was just wondering if instead of all that winterizing procedures, you just start the engine and let it run for a few minutes every couple days, what would happen? Would it be fine? Ps. My garage isn't heated...

Doing that is harder on it than letting it sit for 6 months. Winterize it properly then leave it.

What you suggest isn't a good idea.
