I suppose I get that but they are generally very vertical applications.Linux is pretty much on par with Windows from a UI perspective, so I think it's more about application compatibility where developers aren't porting popular Windows-only apps to run natively on Linux. I check every once in a while if I can switch away from Windows but eventually find something that makes me come back.
And those you could run in Virtualbox or something on top of Linux, if absolute Windoze compatibility is required. Maximize the app and run it like it's just another app on your toolbar.
