Who's doing Racer5 weekend in June?

I'm going for the entire weekend, going out Wednesday evening and intend to camp out there, coming back Sunday evening. I don't have a vehicle so I was planning on renting a car.
In the interest of saving cash, anyone want to go in on this with me? Bring your own tent though, I'm not that into sharesies. Split all costs related to vehicle.
OR does anyone already with similar plans have room to give me a ride?
PM is good.

My 13 year old is doing 1,2 and 3 that week. I am doing Stage 5 on Thurs. Staying for the weekend. I will be going down Wed night till Sunday. I have room in my truck for a passenger since my wife and other son will be driving down Fri night. I'm in Oakville. Send me a PM if you are interested. Have a dog on the jouney so no allergies or fears.

Posts like these always make me proud to be a Biker, and part of the Biking community !!

I'm taking the course on the 12th-16th. I'm not sure what I'm doing accommodation wise was originally going to camp but now i'm having second thoughts.

If the above offer falls through let me know and maybe we can work something out. Don't rent a car that would be a waste for it to sit there for 4 days.

Rent a van and you don't need to sleep in a tent.

If you are doing RACER5 it likely doesn't apply but I will also have an open slot in the toyhauler for a bike.

Edit: see your PM

Question to all SOAR paddock campers...is there water available at the track to fill my fresh water tank or do I need to haul with it full?

Grand Bend track is on city water, we fill there on race weekends and they also have a pump out station you are aloud to use at the end of the weekend

There is city water and a sewage dump on the north side of the paddock. Dont count on cheap or even available rooms during season in town keep in mind this is a resort town and weekends are busy so if thats the route your going BOOK IT NOW. May already be too late.
Also this is the combines SOAR, Nitro Harley and Summer Sizzler weekend. If the weather is nice they expect literally thousands of fans, last year was rained out on the drags. The SOAR pits are from pit in/out road South and also include the oval track pits. The pit road North is resserved for spectators and drag competitors so go early to get a good spot and dont be greedy we will need all we can for our competitors. I will be posting info shortly.
This is the BIGGEST all bike weekend in Canada by a long shot you wont want to miss it. A little bird has told me that the Formula Femme class will have a walk out complete with sexy (gags a little) umbrella boys. Last time we did this it was quite a site may want to bring a camera.

Anyone help a newbie GBM with where this means? Anyone got a map?

motels were pretty cheap for Thursday to sunday, I think the one I got was $400 and its like 5 min away

Test weekend i slept in my van, Round 1 in my CRV after my tent failed. Total cost $0.

If you can split a motel room for a night with a buddy it's not too bad especially if the weather is crappy.

No more tent for me! Box trailer.... it probably won't change temperatures as much but at least it keeps me out of the elements. No more wind or water.

Round 2 beside the onion field's chain link fence during a thunders storm wasn't the best place... but didn't have much choice due to the limited pit space due to the larger crowd. I'll be there early Thursday to mark my territory. Just look for the big "A".

Well despite your crash and broken collar bone, I hope that you had fun. Sorry, but I had 3 racers bought and paid for and I know it was tough hanging around the track all weekend with a painful shoulder but I couldn't pack up and drive the 5 hours round trip to take you home early. Hopefully hanging with my family until Sunday night wasn't too painful. We will see you out there again?

I certainly didn't mind sticking around and didn't expect to be taken anywhere. It was a great weekend even if I could only ride for half of it. You and your family really went the extra mile(s) for me. It definitely turned out to be more than just hitching a ride. I owe you big time. I do hope to get out there as soon as possible again. Thanks so much for everything.
