WHo has mounted a Stebbel??

I added a Stebel Nautilus Compact on my motorcycle but needed to separate the parts so I could make it fit.

Both the horn and compressor must mount upright otherwise they could fail in short order. Tubing should be as short as practical to make sure the horn is loud (less air pressure loss).

BTW, 15% discount at Canadian Tire on the Fiamm Ultimate Blaster horn (Nautilus clone) at the moment. Sale might end this week, I think.

Mounted one on my wing. It's good for waking up people drifting into your lane.

The package says it's the loudest motorcycle horn in the world, but if that's true horn technology still has a way to go.

are you sure you have a stebel nautilus and mounted correctly? Because it is the loudest horn possible. The next step is this.

I'm betting no relay and/or anemic wiring

I got one installed because I was tired of drivers ignoring the wimpy stock horn. Now I find I get about as much respect as a car when someone is lane-changing without looking and I give it to them. I had a mod horn put on my Toyota Echo years ago and it sounded like an 18-wheeler. I got serious respect with that since people thought they were about to be leveled by a cement truck.

Thinking of wiring the old horn back in as well.

The polite "meep" "meep", just doesn't seem to come off right with that horn.

I got the Fiamm branded one from Canadian Tire on the weekend. It was a tight fit but it's on the right side in front of the coolant tank (CBR600F4). I was worried about the heat in there, especially with the plastic covers over the horns, so a made a heat shield and put the mounting bolt through it to hold it close to the body.

I considered separating the horns and compressor, but when I took it apart I found that the air passage tube was oval shaped. That would have made for a really awkward hose fitting. Anyway the last two days have been slow rides - especially today in the heavy traffic, and the heat doesn't seem to have affected it. I got to use it this morning on a woman that tried to change lanes in the middle of the left turn from Harbour to Yonge north, while playing with her phone. I was right at the door, and her window was down. Got her attention! I think the only problem with that location is that it might be tight up against the fairing - I think it could actually be louder.
I used 12ga wire for everything except the horn button wires to the relay, they're the stock wires. 20A inline fuse in a rubber protector.
