I live in the GTA and have always wanted to ride a dirtbike.. only problem is how.. and where? None of my friends have dirtbikes and I don't know of any place even remotely near me where you can even ride them?

What do you guys do?

Lot easier for me cuz I'm in Peterborough. 25 minutes to the Ganny and all the singletrack you need. Or when I take my blue plated enduro, I head north to Gooderham area where there are miles and miles of trails.

Go do a tour like suggested above, and if you like it buy a dirt bike. You can get something pretty good in the $1500-2500 price range. Make sure you get the ownership of the bike so it can be plated for public trails in Ontario. There are lots of places to ride, most are a small drive outside of the gta, so depending oh what you drive you are either going to need a trailer or truck. Offroading is an inexpensive alternative compared to track days or even street riding if you have high insurance...and imo riding a dirt bike is one of the funnest activities on two wheels, complete freedom and adventure.

And if none of your friends want to join into an offroad addiction there are plenty of guys on here that ride.

Also when buying a dirt bike budget in helmet, chest protector, and boots as bare essentials.

The best place for this question would have been over on the Dirt/Dual Sport section of the forum.

My friends farm. It's just down the road and has a huge super cross style track (5 acres if not bigger)and there's all kinds of trails to get there.. This is where living in the sticks is nice. If no option then do a tour thing but once you do it you'll get the bug.

Can others get in that track?

Do you usually give a completely useless answer to a question?

The OP asked where to ride and you gave him a non answer.

Are you an obtuse triangle?
He's suggesting to go find farmland and obtain permission, but "not this one com-padre"

Yes.

Oh crap. My bad. Farmers are out to let people rip around on dirtbikes. Cool. I did not know that.

Of course not. So why tell someone where they can't ride a dirtbike when they ask where they can ride a dirtbike.

Technically he asked "where to ride a dirtbike" not "where can I ride a dirt bike"

So the answer was correct!

There is a lot of great riding in the Barrie area. We have miles of single/double track trails. I have two friends who live in the gta, leave their bikes at my place so they can come north without a trailer etc.
