Where to buy Corbin seat and footpeg lic. plate mount

Hi guys,

I just picked my brand new Yamaha Stryker and although the stock seat is comfy, I would like to upgrade to Corbin for the long rides. Where would you buy Corbin seats from? Their website sells it directly but I don't wanna pay 20-30% extra in duties and brokerage.

Also I would like to replace the stock license plate mount with footpeg mounts. Where can I get that?
Thanks in advance.

mounting the plate on the footpeg can get you a ticket for obscure plate. don't do it.

Do they even have a seat assembly for a Stryker? Sometimes they need to have a bike brought to them to get the first off.

You might try eBay, but I seriously don't think they have a Canadian distributor. If you want the Corbin seat, you'll have to pay the charges.

Okay, I sit corrected. I apologise for spouting off without having done research. :drunken:

See if Saddlemen make a seat for your bike. Their ones with memory foam ("Tech") are so ****ing comfy on your *** it isn't funny.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but does anyone know just how much more comfortable the Tech seat is from the Track seat? I just tested my new track seat and after a 2 hour ride, I'm quite disappointed. Worth trying to see if I can exchange it?

I would assume any seat with "track" in the name is going to be MILES less comfy, lol.

EDIT: No memory foam in the "track" version, that's where the "Tech" version really shines :)

I think Dual Sport Plus sells corbin as well. Bead riders make a HUGE difference on longer riders and a fraction of the cost of a new seat. The combination of a good seat and bead riders is heaven. I have a Sargent seat and bead riders and can go all day without issue.

This is an option, they aren't cheap.

might as well buy a seat from the manufacturer, anyone else will just order from them and resell it. Maybe the price will be the same, but it's going to take longer. I just ordered a seat from Sargent for my DR650, they shipped it the next day and it took almost two weeks from Florida. That was by USPS. Canadian customs "sat" on it for a while, no duty or customs fees, but I had to pay GST.

Everyone's butt is a little different so, opinions will vary. IMO, Corbin has a great reputation for touring seats on bikes like VFR and FJ but, in the cruiser market, Mustang and Saddlemen are the two that seem to dominate when it comes to changing out stock.

The cost and experience of a Corbin doesn't seem very good but, a lot of people swear by them.

Being a HD guy, I've had my fair share of seats. From myself and others, Mustang is the way to go. I happen to purchase in the states and bring it home.

As for buying local, I can't really say but, check out some dealers and see what they carry. I suspect they will have some seats from the brands mentioned but, be prepared for some sticker shock. Sometimes, you might get lucky and find something marked down but, the Stryker is a fairly new model so, I don't suspect there will be old inventory that dealers want to get rid of.

Good luck.

careful with the corbin... it is a lot more slippery then the factory seat, it is more comfortable though

I ordered my seat directly from Corbin. It arrived in the mail exactly 2 weeks later. (BTW, my Corbin is no more slippery than my stock seat).

I'm in the market for a new seat too... Street Triple has one of the worst seats. Hard on the tailbone and makes you slide forward too much. If it wasn't for my TechSpecs, I would have lost the ability to procreate by now.

I've only started looking and so far Corbin hasn't responded to my email. All I asked was cost of shipping to Toronto and who do they ship with.
