looking at getting into riding, been reading the forum for a while now and figured why not join and support the site.
Im in toronto, seeing a lot insurance talk lately. I've been wondering if it even makes sense to try and get into it anymore..?
With regards to insurance, there's so many variables it's impossible to say much aside from the following.
Make your first bike a reasonable bike.
Don't buy a bike before you call for an insurance quote on said bike to make sure you can afford it.
Shop around - some quotes you get will be astronomical for year 1 insurance. It doesn't meal all will be..unless;
If you have any big black marks on your driving record it's likely to cause you grief for year 1 motorcycle insurance.
Highly recommend taking a safety course as well in the spring once they start up again. $400-$500 well spent, the stuff you learn could save your life some day..and you get your M2 faster which could make a slight but measurable difference for your 1st year insurance with some insurers.
