What did you do in your garage today..?

I FINALLY finished, with the help of my friend of 45 years an insulated shop area in my pole barn where I can store and work on my motorbikes.
It's only 12 X 20 with an 8 ft. ceiling, but it will be quicker and easier to heat up. It's getting four 8 ft. led fixtures that were on sale at RONA.

I swear, I WILL finish the wiring on that Norton Commando before spring.

While you don't want more work, I would cover the wood with something fire resistant. Heat/power/gas in an enclosed space where everything is flammable isn't great. If you don't want to do it, I would kill the heat/power in the room when I was leaving.

Good idea. I can have a main switch right by the door when I enter/exit the barn. I haven't hooked up the power but the panel is right by the door and I'm using existing circuits, so adding a switch will be easy.

As for heat, the space heats up quickly and enough with a small plugged-in heater. There's not much power demand in the space but it's got 3 circuits - 2 for outlets and one for lights. The only powered thing I'll use in there is the compressor to raise/lower the lift and the little USB speaker. I use decent quality power bars for everything plugged in and battery chargers for cordless tools only get plugged in when needed and then sitting on the concrete floor away from flammables in the other part of the barn.

I'm keeping the drill press, grinder and everything else where it is in the barn as I want to limit dust & debris as much as possible. No woodworking etc. in this space, just careful, peaceful and mindful wrench turning along with bike storage. I'll even take my frustrations outside when the peaceful wrench turning goes sideways.

I've become firmly of the opinion that anyone wishing to buy tools needs to pass some kind of aptitude test first. I can't just run out and buy pharmaceuticals because I have no clue how to use them, the same should apply for ratchets and sockets.

Nice try.

I'll just hang outside the hardware store and wait for someone to come along and pay them to go inside and buy me ratchets and sockets.

I probably need to check into some sort of tool abuse rehab for treatment and counselling.

Every time I leave for the tool store my wife suggests an intervention is imminent.

Good one I feel your pain, I'm going to the sportsman show in March. Wife.......YOUR NOT buying another boat !......ME..... but its for you benefit and comfort. We will see how it goes....fingers crossed 🤞

Installed LED headlight on the Bonnie. Also want to install bar end mirrors but, the current end plugs are a bear to remove. Stripped out the allen socket on one end. Lesson learned and other side remains untouched after a small attempt indicates would have same result. Apparently they are thread locked from the factory. 🤷‍♂️.

Sold panniers from the K1200 which funds farkles for the Bonnie.

Edit:added pics for fun

Tried to siphon gas out of the project bike into the blower yesterday... Failed... It's been that kind of week lol

I messed up the float bowl o ring in the snowblower.
Couldn’t find one in the snowstorm at Home Depot, where I bought it, or CT, so I’m trying some gasket maker on it.
Wish me luck.
Will check for the appropriate gasket tomorrow at another place, if the weather permits.

Replacement carbs can usually be found on Amazon for peanuts and often arrive next day. Lots of them used by guys on the snowblower forum with perfect results.
Keep the rebuilt oem one as a spare.

Check for a seal supplier in your area. I've been getting mine from this place in Mississauga for as long as I can remember, and just picked up a set for the cooling system of one of my cars this week: D&D Engineered Products Inc.

Take one off your lawnmower if it’s a Tecumseh.

McGiver solution: make a cardboard gasket from a cereal box. Leave it a little oversized on id and od, soak in motor oil - it will work for a few weeks.
