Transporting a bike... on it's side?

Also don't forget about all the nice gas and coolant leaking all over that truck bed through the overflow lines. Wow, amazing how cheap people can get.

why can't you ride the bike back? Just post time and location you'll be picking the bike up and I'm sure a bunch of GTAM members would be happy to escort you back on their motorcycles. hmmm... you have CAA?

No, I appreciate all the help lol :) I really wasn't sure. I knew I could have protected the fairings by wrapping the bike in towels or something.

Did some more searching, and yea the fluids will leak, etc... ok, hopefully it will fit in this damn cap.

The bike is 43.7" according to Kawi (http://www.kawasaki.ca/model/ninja-250r:1156)

I guess I could deflate the tires to lose an inch or so? :p
Unbolt the windscreen and take it off. It will take a couple inches off the top of the bike. I can fit my 636 in the back of my minivan with the windscreen off, you should be able to squeeze it into a truck.

Where are you and where is the bike you're picking up?
Might be able to help if you're local

Ratchet strap the forks & remove the windscreen as mentioned above. If you insist to lay it on it's side simply wrap a chain around the front wheel & drag it behind the truck.

I think a covered trailer with a ramp door is about $30.00 from U haul.

stop posting, he doesnt want help or he would of posted, I would help with truck and trailer for gas and a coffee.
im in orangeville text 289-987-5592 if its within an hour from me.

All that work to take parts off the bike or spend 15 mins and remove the cap. Sounds like this truck was his; a youtube idiot at work.

As mentioned, he was transporting his new bike from Tennessee to Ontario during the winter. I wouldn't want all the salt / grime on my new pirchase either!

So, just got back. Curious to as what I did?

I left it there. It was too tall for the truck cap and would not fit. I'm going to drive it back Monday.

A little nervous as it'll be my first time back on a bike in a while. Perhaps I may take that offer of an escort? May take HWY 7 to avoid the 401 this time.

Two years ago I bought and rode my bike on March 12. I used the go train to go down and pick it up. Stay off the 400 series hiways. My bike was new, I used the ride home to break the bike in. How and where your ride Depends on your school of break in technic. My bike runs like a champ, I did it right.

I have no idea why, but i need to see a picture of this

I put my buddys '09 ninja 250 on its side in the back of my mazdaspeed 3 before. Strapped it to the baby seat hooks on the folded down seats through the fork with the bike in *** first and tied the hatch shut over it. Just take off the one signal and put it on something soft like a blanket with signal off ans you'll be fine.

You transport your bike how you see fit, I'll transport mine how I see fit.

Personal attacks, well I'll leave that to you.

If this is the real story,

Posting an idiotic video on youtube, promoting that video on a motorcycle forum and expecting no one to refer to your actions as idiotic is delusional. Being ridiculed for stupidity is a fact of life. As Forest Gump says: stupid is, what stupid does.

You didn't admit to posting that video. My opinion is that youtube poster is an idiot. Hardly an attack on you unless you are admitting that is you and your video. If it is, stop embarassing yourself, remove it from youtube and stop looking for assurance from a motorcycle forum about your actions.

If someone on this forum posted in a thread they left their keys in the ignition and someone rode off with their bike. There will be a post "that was stupid". A personal attack, hardly.
