I may have to go to Wiarton this Saturday morning and returning by dinner. I have not been that way for a long time - anyone with any road suggestions? I realize it's mostly straight, but any suggestion are welcome. The less highway the better. The more scenic/curvy the better.

I would just zigzag thru the heartland to Owen Sound. If willing to do gravel, even better. Once at Owen Sound make sure to take scenic route hugging Georgian Bay. I think it's called Grey 1, but you'll know it when you see it.

I just a got a set of Anakee 3's and would like to test them out.
 
OK, maybe I'm not being 100% helpful per request (I don't keep routes itemized) but if you stay west and somewhat parallel to Airport Rd. you'll find plenty satisfying gravel up and over action. Stay below HWY 26 and zigzag to Owen Sound. That's like getting lost without actually getting lost. Water on one side, major HWY on other.

Did this route last weekend and it was definitely a fun ride. Then took the car with the gf along the route as well and still fun...until you get a grandma doing 30kph and you can't pass for a few kms :( There was lots of gravel around Mono Centre Road at a few of the sharp corners so careful and Prince of Wales had some gravel / sand as well. I guess lots of cars come off the side dirt roads and bring it onto the main road.
 
If you decide to do the Grey road 1 in the peninsula, watch out for gravel on the corners. Lots of farm equipments use this road so the gravel wash across the roads are inevitable. Not to bad if you expect it, still was a fun ride. If you are going to take hwy 10, then slow down right before and right after small towns. Also, hwy 6 out of Guelph could be fun with the curves and the road was freshly paved couple of years back so should be really smooth.
