Tool Deals Thread

There are times when it's worth paying the premium for high quality tools. Sockets and wrenches need to have close tolerances or you pay for it in stripped fasteners.
Yep ... you don't want these.1780502544905.png

Ya, you do. The only time you need 6 point is high torque. 12 point are easier to land, particularly in tight spots because you can seat them every 30 degrees.

I rarely use 6 points - just for high torque or rusty fasteners, sometimes on larger nuts and bolts.

That's a sure way to strip the nut or bolt head if it's on tight but if not it's a good option true.

I used to use dewalt when doing carpentry but kept blowing gearboxes so I moved on to red for most cordless things. They held up much better (with a few exceptions like a sawzall that doesn't like to work).
This.
We moved on from Dewalts to Milwaukee years ago. We probably have 12 drills. 20 + batteries.

I’m sold on the power ratchet. I just had to readjust my aftermarket cruiser pegs that I bolted to my crash bars to give me a different position to stretch out in on longer trips and usually it’s an exercise in loosening and tightening bolts multiple times until the position is right. The power ratchet made this a 5 min job. The 30lbs torque it gives is fine for this kind of application too.

If anyone is in the De Walt 20V ecosystem then Crappy Tire has a 50% off tools sale with some of the 20V tools at 50% off. Drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw, angle grinder etc. A few other items at 30% off too. Sale is until June 11th

I wish I had that power ratchet on hand today when I swapped my rear tire, which happened to involve removing the exhaust and swingarm - twice. That, or a 3/8" drive T-handle. Halfway into it I started wondering about going to Home Depot to buy it.. but my wheel was off.

Looks like some of the Home Depot deals ended but I think that price is still available from other vendors.

It's still listed at that price on the HD website.

Are there other HD deals?
A better option…

On sale for 40% off ($99 down from $160) however I find the MSRP on a lot of crappy tire stuff to be inflated.
Pretty much everything Maximum or Mastercraft branded goes on sale for 40% very regularly. As do all their ratchet sets. If it's not on sale today, it's probably going to be on sale next week. Or the week after.

The shop vac I got last week at HD has increased. Maybe not everything changed.

Crappy Tire has a big sale on right now with a bunch of tools at up to 50% off. I think that runs until Thursday.

There is a price history feature on amazon.ca ATM. Thinking it won't be there long but it can be eye opening to view the price history for the previous year of products before clicking buy.
If it is a discrecional buy it is nice to know that you are not buying it at the top of the market

There’s a website called camel camel camel that does that.
