Today I went down

When crossing streetcar tracks try to do so at as close to a 90 degree angle as possible. Don't brake on them. The same goes for manhole covers; don't brake on them. Being leaned over on either is also a recipe for disaster, especially during or immediately after a rainfall.
 
OP - I'm sorry to hear about your spill and glad it's all sorted and back to normal.

Downtown Toronto is a good death trap after a rainfall (especially King and Queen) and does require the A-game. It's either avoid taxis, man holes, pot holes, street-car tracks, pedestrians, bad/ angry drivers, parked cars, cyclists, stray cats, and aliens.

If you see it's wet - best to find a pub to wait it out. Especially during the peak rush where speed cannot save you in situations.

+1 @90 degrees. Rode the tracks @180 degrees once. Did not feel like I was on rails.
