TMP Saturday Sept 28!!! WHO'S IN?!

That's why I asked. What matters to you and what matters to others are clearly different.

So, if I had to rate them on fun, most fun to least fun, excluding Calabogie because I've never been there, and Shannonville Pro because I've only done it once;
Shannonville - Long
Shannonville - Fabi
Grand Bend - Screaming Alien
Grand Bend - Long
Grand Bend - Reverse Screaming Alien
Shannonville - Nelson
Mosport
Grand Bend - Technical
TMP
Grand Bend - Modified

What are you waiting for. Bogie is the best by far imho.

It's in the plan for next year. It's always been about commitment of funds. 2-3 track days elsewhere vs 1 at 'bogie. I went back to Mosport this year, and planning to do' bogie next year.

I want to spend a weekend there next year

Let me know what days you are thinking Dave!

Nice vid. You caught up to a couple of real yellow asshats at about the 8 minute mark. Why tf do people think they need to take back a pass before the kink? So damned dangerous when you were clearly faster than him... So glad I only ever did one yellow track day. It was a TMP in 2003, and I had exactly the same thing happen. I made a clean pass out of the hairpin and the guy felt the need to get me back just before the kink and almost put us both off.

Thanks that you noticed that!

I let off a few times on the pass because i could hear his bike revving up and knowing that he wouldn't let me have the pass. If i did pass him, i knew he would pass me in the straight, giving me another frustrating lap

The guy was on a CBR 1000 and just way to much power. I'm running only -1 on the front, which next year i will add some teeth to the rear sprocket.

Around 8:52 someone came pretty close to me. At that point i just pitted and let the 4 fight it out.

I'm starting to hate slow turning litre bikes :P

I saw that pass on your left on the straight too. Very stupid place to pass... yellow... awesome. LOL

Yep! Who needs to hit apexes, run the racing line and take a smooth predictable path when I can just out power the other guys on the straight!

Liter bike hero's, TMP is riddled with 'em. IMHO there are very, very few people at trackdays that should be on, and know how to ride liter bikes. One of those guys in front of you didnt hit a single apex.....but he was fast as **** down the straights....go buddy go!

I agree with you about the litre bikes, even though I don't have even nearly as much experience as you. However, let's not forget that TMP is somewhat a slow and technical track, and riding a litre bike is not that easy on such tracks (again---I'm not speaking from experience, so I could be wrong!). I've been "developing" a theory in my mind, purely based on logic since a litre bike is the only bike I've ever ridden on any track, it's all theoretical for me at this point: approaching a turn, the rider needs to slow down to the desired corner entry speed. It is logical to think it's much easier to get that speed right if you don't have to slow down from the incredibly high speed a litre bike reaches (as compared to a less powerful bikes). In fact, this is mostly why I'm planning to sell my 1000 and get a 600 for next season, on which I think I'll not only learn more, but might start moving faster much quicker too. (Btw, I'm not in the video above, just sharing my thoughts.)

Riding tmp with a litre bike is like having a sword fight in a closet

I'm so happy I opted to hop on a cbr125 with racer5 to get me into this sport

Just something I've noticed, every one complains about TMP. Why do the complainers go?
There are better tracks out there, but there isn't enough. I accept that EVERY track day has weekend warriors. Just by reading the stuff on this site there are a lot of "experts" putting out there "expert" opinion.
Sadly the true experts usually keep quiet.
I go knowing what type of riders go to TMP as well as all the other tracks.
Mosport I was in yellow group and I dealt with super bikers there also.
Grand bend, excluding SOAR Races they go there also.
"Super Bikers" are everywhere. We will have accept them. Because we ALL at one point started new at a track.
Some go for different reasons.
There was more Red flags at Mosport with riders choice then at TMP (self Run).
riders choice has no tolerance for "super bikers "
I'm still a nooby compared to most.
I started tracking a year ago.
For the first 6 track days, I didn't know my proper lines, I didn't understand how to turn, brake effectively. (Please note I stayed in green for a while, then went to yellow till I broke 1:22's before going to red. )
Now I just work to support Bridgestone corp. Lol.
I like racing with SOAR Because the people are fun, friendly and helpful
I go to track days knowing what is riding there. I've learned to adapt and not ride near the "super bikers"
Oh and I ride a liter bike. ;-)

Not everyone can afford fancy **** like you. :p

If they didn't buy power commander and exhaust and fancy leavers and other "go fast parts" they would have money for suspension, and they would go faster. ;)
