tires, what should i run?

im think im gonna run the pirelli sbk pro until I get back into the low 1:20s then switch up to dots and warmers.

Who are the local pirelli vendors?

Bluestreak also carries the superbike pros.

So how much a set (120/190) of the Superbike Pros run for? Nobody has them listed online, and it's Sunday, curiosity will kill me.

that depends. Whats the yen trading for these days?

I believe they're going for $350 for the set.

EDIT: for what its worth when i go to the states and there are AMA riders at a track day id stay the hell out of red group. The amount of people at a TMP day running that kind of pace are slim to none.

AMA riders just helped to cut 4 seconds off my time at Jennings. And they were some of the most respectful riders I've ever shared track with. Even when merging onto the track at pit out they were super courteous.

If you know a track well enough to be running red then having faster riders around is the best way to learn.

$350, get them from Orion's in Barrie

So, assuming you have warmers and a generator available, is there any advantage of using slicks over DOT's?

I assume you mean DOT race tires.. in which case, not really.

I've read in other threads before that slicks last on average a tad bit longer than DOT race tires. Something to do with lack of grooves to catch and rip rubber or something like that. It might very well be wrong Internet information though.

The tread sypes also help put heat in the tires so its harder to keep slicks on temp. So... ya.
