Negatory.
They discontinued the Funduro around 2000.
Wife's first (real) bike was a 2004 F650CS Scarver, with the engine that came after the Funduro. 2004 was the first year of the twin-spark for smoother throttle response and better fuel economy. She put ~65,000 kms the two years she owned it, zero problems with the bike. Flawless.

You guys and your adventures were the second half of why I bought a G650GS (and then eventually a second one).
The first half was the first time I rode a F650GS Dakar. I was working at Studio Cycle and it was a customer's bike I was test riding after service to make sure it was ready to go out. I made an immediate mental note that it was a motorcycle anyone could ride with their eyes closed.
Then somewhere along the way of following you guys' travels or reading your posts on here, I made a second mental note that BMW's 650cc platform was bullet proof.
I filed both away in my memory for like a decade, until I saw a 2011 G650GS for $4K with only 1,200 km on it. I drove 350 km to Kingsville to get it, and 350 KM back home. Zero regrets, so thanks for your inputs!
