Weather Network app on my iphone, only trust the radar map. Unfortunately, that means you can only plan about 4hrs out, anything after that is a coin flip.

I used to defend TWN as it always worked for me. The complaint used to be that the picture was of a sun with partial cloud cover, but the weather didn't look like the picture. At least now you guys are looking at POPs and mms. But TWN has been really unreliable lately, compared to years past IMO. I think their weather models are outdated, maybe due to global warming? Anyways, I agree that the radar map is the best way to determine the weather you'll face.

There's no such thing as global warming.
You should publish that knowledge in a peer-reviewed article, I'm sure millions would kill to learn what you know!

I should have explained my statement better. I didn't actually mean that the earth's temperature wasn't rising, but what I really meant in my statement is that there is no such thing as global warming in the sense of what the majority think it is. There have been scares of global cooling in the past FYI. The earth's temperature is not rising at a rate that is any more concerning than history has shown us. There is no conclusive evidence that shows that CO2 emissions are the main cause of it.
I just use the weather forecast to decide whether or not to pack rain gear. I usually won't need it.
I use the weather channel as background company when moteling it on bike trips. When turned on at home it reminds me of good times on the road. I find this soothing after a hectic workday or sometimes in the morning preparing for battle. Especially now that my local TV station employs a bimbo.

today was the first day ( surprised )this season that the forecast I checked was wrong...bike stayed home today. I check weathernetwork.com . cp24 weather, etc. Oh well its riding time the rest of the week.

everyone told me it would rain today, but i still rode my bike to work, worked outdoors today too
checked the radar before i left, and it showed all clear, so i went ahead and rode

+1 - I tell all my friends now that it's all about Radar.
Last year, the Weather Network App on iPad used to give you 3-4 hours of past radar data, and 2-3 hrs of future "predictions" (which are hilariously horrible). They changed the app, and now it only provides 1 hour of ACTUAL past data, and 3 hours of thier ****** predictions... I wrote about it in my app review, but they have yet to change it back... screw them.
The funny thing is, if you look at their Radar Future prediction model, you can SEE why their precipitation predictions are so bollocks: look at actual (past) radar data and watch cloud systems move in crazy, quadratic motions, clouds form and dissipate, etc. Then look at their prediction (future) models and the cloud movements are linear and stagnant LOL. I understand that it's insanely-hard to predict the weather, but really?!
now I use wunderground.com, too, but I miss the old Weather Network App.
This is probably still the best method BUT: it's not enough when your commute is over an hour & ~80kms.
I got caught in the rain today too - cuz I skipped riding yesterday since they said it would rain LOL...

I use the "KYTX" radar app on my phone, I find it to be really accurate. As in I can be at the track, look at the radar and usually figure out if we will get rain and when during the next few hours.
If the POP is over 60% I prepare for rain. Anything less and I assume it won't, and normally it doesn't... But yes, TWN SUCKS. Can normally tell if it's going to rain during the day if you pay attention to winds and temperatures, or at least give yourself enough warning to get home before it hits.
You think it sucks for motorcycling in the summer? Rain sure, no big deal. Sledding in the winter... You can get any form of precipitation, and it can be -5 and sunny or -40 and a **** storm, which if you end up getting stuck in can kill ya.

Use good judegement, even 90% chance of rain with 1mm accumulation is pretty good odds even if it sdoes rain it will only be a quick shower, then clear sailing

The weather Channel or the Weather Network?? The Weather Network is the canadian one, and the one i use as a "reference". The Weather channel is a US one, and I use only if I am in the US. I find the US one not very accurate.
Also what Matthew says is true too.,
