The Spring Motorcycle Show closes its doors after 32 years.
After careful consideration, the company that produces The Toronto International Spring Motorcycle Show Inc. (SMS) was shut down.
Peter Derry, President of Peter Derry Productions Inc. (PDP) and Show Producer and 50% shareholder of the Spring Motorcycle Show (SMS), commented.

“It’s with great sadness that I’m announcing the closure of the show. While this would not be my first choice, there were a great number of overwhelming factors the show was facing that led to the closure, one of which was the impact of the pandemic. After 3 years of Show cancellations, the re-start of Spring show 2023 revealed everything had changed. As a direct result, the major decline in revenues from both our exhibitors and the motorcycling public, challenged our stable business model against the dramatically increasing production costs. Lastly, it was no longer possible to build the show with quality content that would measure up to our standards.”

We would like to thank all our followers, attendees, our staff, our exhibitors, and sponsors Orbit Insurance and Weldershelper.com; many of which I have cultivated a long and valued relationships with.

Sincerely Peter & Robyn Derry

Peter Derry Productions Inc. is still very much filled with passion for building shows and events and will shift gears to be ready to assist other shows and events on a contractual basis. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or discussions peterderry96@gmail.com

They really do need to thin the herd, 3 shows in the winter now? Long as the enercare one is good to go, im happy. See yall there.

This show will now be run by the same people the run the supershow. Visit the Supershows website for show details. They are just putting it together and GTAM has already confirmed our attendance.

But we got a show before that one. I'll post the thread this weekend.

For those that may be confused.. the show that is cancelled is the April show.

The February 16-18 Toronto show is still on...
2024 TORONTO MOTORCYCLE AND POWERSPORT SHOW
Unfortunately this seams to no longer be the manufactures show. Looking at the Calgary list of exhibitors, I only see Yamaha, Honda, Triumph and Harley Davidson.

Don't read too much into the roster for the other show locations.

I was at the Vancouver show Jan 12-14 (working the GVAMotorcycle.com booth, of course) and all of the manufacturers were there except BMW and Ducati.

And even then, BMW was represented by the BMW Enduropark guys where they unveiled the new F900GS, and the local Ducati dealership had a booth where they brought a whole bunch of bikes to the show.

When it arrives here I will be attending. Hope it's worth the trip into the city. If not, it could be my last.
