Don't say Toronto...don't say Toronto...they said Toronto:

Not sure what they're basing this on, knowing the Huffington Post, it's likely "talk", but how the F did this happen? How did Toronto end up being mentioned with third world countries?

My answer: The sale of the 407

That is total nonsense, they talk about "Speeding tractor trailer drivers". Tractor trailers cant speed, they all have limiters that keep them at 105kmh and below for the last 5 years.

I don't get it. The link you sent points to the 10 worst places to drive in Canada. Not the world. On top of that, the section of the 401 they point out is east of City of Toronto.

Well it says they speed on ramps, 105KMh on some ramps can be way too fast. They also speed in bad weather.

Care to explain how several Ontario plated tractor trailers were doing 125 along the way to Montreal and back this weekend? I don't just mean one or two either. .... regardless even at 100 they can't stop worth a ****.

They obviously have had their limiters removed, and if they get caught would suffer extremely heavy fines. (Its not a perfect world, obviously)

I get defensive when truckers get constant bad press because I used to drive a truck for a living and I know what a gruelling job it is, I also know that truckers are statistically the safest drivers on the road.

Of course when a car causes an accident involving a truck, the trucker gets blamed, just like us hooligans on two wheels constantly get blamed.

Lol.

You guys are NOT the safest drivers on the roads at all. Your like taxi cab drivers except your out on the highways instead.

Well... I don't know the specifics but wouldn't the speed limiters be limited (no pun intended) to Ontario trucks only? I mean, they can't enforce it on trucks coming in from the US or other provinces, can they?

They can and do, yes.

Paris made the list? I'd say Rome is worse than Paris, and Lima is worse than both of them put together!

LOL...tht pic of TO is exactly by my house...haha!!!

Not surprised, I've been saying it since I came here. I've driven in a lot of countries around the world and Canada (Toronto in particular) is by far one of the worst. Everyone is in a hurry to get nowhere.

Try driving in the downtown Toronto with hitting a construction site at least every second block. Can't be done.

Any 400 series hwy IMO. Drive straight, & shut brain off. In my 20 some odd years of being licensed I refuse to drive a motorcycle on those highways. I'll no longer be enjoying the ride IMO.

The "new to Canada" truck drivers are not safe lol...

On truck speed limiters... they are unconstitutional. This is one of many reasons why you see truck going faster than 105...

http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/...eed_limiters_for_trucks_unconstitutional.html

saying the speed limit of 105 kilometres per hour puts him in danger.

That's a load of crap IMHO. In most European countries trucks have a lower speed limit then cars.
Same goes for Michigan:
