Really cool enduro if you can get it back together. I bought a DT175, not as desirable, for $750 last year.

If you just want an old rider and don't care about shows and period accuracy. The small parts you mention are a few hundred bucks if you use aftermarket. Plan on crank seals and tires too.

Even if it's free, don't assume you can buy, fix and sell forca profit.

Thanks for reply man, it was my own bike. I decided to just pass it on to someone who wants to fix it up for $1000 rather than do the work myself. Kind of lost interest in it over the years, it was a cool bike though. Not sure if it was worth much more in current conditon but doesn't bother me too much if it was. I'm sure running and complete it is.

A running '75 DT400 just changed hands for $1500 a couple weeks ago I noticed.

I've seen worse. I hate when people say "previous owner was a so and so..." like that doesn't change the fact that you either didn't ride it for the whole time you had it for x months/years/etc., potentially thrashed it, or whatever.
Who knows, maybe they're making more on the sale than they bought it from said PO...
