Wow! I'm in my 60's and age doesn't factor into many calls I make.
If it looks that good in person it should be fine, except of course for those horrid red grips.

We had an S40 for a few years, was my wife’s bike, I rode it from time to time with friends who were novice riders on little Shadows and Viragos.
They are great bikes. Simple, very easy to ride and super easy to maintain. The cam tensioner is a dit of a ‘doo-hickey’ thing - more urban legend than reality. It’s part of routine maintenance to check it - a 15 minute job evety 26000 km.
Despite what you might hear, they don’t vibrate and shake terribly, it has a counterbalanced engine that revs low. It’s got enough power to hold a cruise at 125 kmh all day

Just get C50, great bike for years to come. 2005 and up are fuel injected, so no fighting with carburetors every spring. Easy to ride and easy on insurance.

You’re still young so get what ever floats your boat. The S40 has a good following. Great boulevard cruiser and taking the young ones for ice cream. Probably easy on insurance and upkeep. For around the $2k to $3k range, there are plenty of selection of all kinds in good shape. Not just S40 but, many makes and models. Don’t get too caught up in it being the best or only example in its condition and price. If it feels right, pull the trigger. If your gut says walk, keep on hunting and enjoy the process.

Well I ended up buying it, as when I test drove it it felt nice for me good size not to heavy or bulky. Mind you I could only drive in the large parking lot but still, sounded nice and smooth when running everything felt good everything works as it should. Got it for about 2500 certified and it’s about as nice and clean as what you see in the pics I posted. I think I made out in a good deal with it though and my insurance is only 66$ a month for it

Yes I wouldn’t mind getting some different grips for sure lol, I like the looks of these ones but just have to see if they will fit the bike is all
I’ve also gotta adjust the clutch lever distance from grip, my hands aren’t quite large enough to comfortably reach the lever lol

So where can I find grip similar to the ones I posted earlier ? Anytime I’ve looked em up they don’t show to fit my bike, are grips normally all different or ? I kind of don’t like the red sparkly grips on the bike lol

make sure your petcock works. mine didn't and the lever was broken so i couldn't use reserve had to do the push of shame to a nearby gas station.

Well so far yes it is working, and I’m planning on to have a clear fuel line with a filter put on it when I’ve got some extra money for such, right now is just a black hose

My only ‘cruiser’ was a Rebel 500 so not sure I got the full experience but it was a decent bike…albeit very slow and boring.
