Summer Gloves Recommendation

Looks like warm weather is finally arriving and now it's time to upgrade my cheapo (Teknic Racing) gloves to something more substantial. The gloves are thin and don't look like they'll hold up in a crash but I've been riding with my cold weather gloves which are much more sturdy.

Any recommendations? I'm looking for good ventilation with good protection (obviously), prefer gauntlet over shorty and trying to stay within $200.

Also, if anyone is selling their gloves in sizes S or M then please let me know as I'd be interested.

I have had great success with any of the Knox lineup. I have short pinky fingers and all the manufacturers seem to make them too long. SPeedworx/Racer5 normally has the best price on these.

I like the Tourmaster Deerskins I got because they are comfy and deer skin is supposed to be stronger than leather but they don't have any of the fancy features of today's race gloves. No idea if that actually makes a substantial difference but I'd assume so. So mine have no plastic knuckle protectors or anything like that. They breath very well and have to better than anything mesh or textile at least.

M_P, if you are interested in shortys, I have a pair of Joe Rocket (I will find out model) in Med. that I purchased off another member. After ny first ride, I realized that what I initially thought was a good fit, was not. I need a size bigger. I paid $40, would like that back, open to offers. I will post pic.

JB sure send some info on them and I'd like to take a look.

Dainese Druids S-ST

These are around $200 at Riders Choice (with cash discount)

I find them to be a pretty good glove for the summer.

Joe Bass, the Joe Rocket gloves you're referring to are the Blaster Shorty gloves.

Mimico Polak, these gloves are excellent in the summer! I have worn them for 3 seasons now. They have good airflow, protection and help against fatigue when riding for long distances. The gloves are north American cut so they fit large. The gloves retail for $87 at Royal or GP Bikes.

I'm thankful and at the same time a wee bit scared about this ^^^^.

Alpinestars SMX air carbon.
I've owned 3 pairs over the years

I have a pair of mesh A* gloves I picked up from GP. Two seasons so far holding up great. Carbon knuckles and leather palms. Mesh on the outside of the fingers

I'd go with gloves that cover the cuff over the shorties.

Wasps get really nasty by the time they reach your armpit, when you scoop them out of the air.

I had the stitching rip out on my winter gloves.

i've got Knox that I wear, some racing knock-offs, and some JR speed master 5's that should still be god for one fall.

Thanks for all the responses guys really appreciate it. Will need to look more into it after my trip next week. I'd prefer gauntlet but always have an issue with the jacket being in the way so sometimes I need to put it in the gauntlet part (Textile jacket), or sometimes on the outside of it (leather jacket) depending on how the sleeve ends.

Good timing. I need new shorties too.. ☺

It's a shame that Jimmy from Velocity Sportsgear is no longer doing gloves.....the VR-Pro gauntlets were the best $200 gloves you could find.

Yes I know! I have the heated gloves and they're great. Emailed him to ask but no luck :(
