Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

This reminds me I saw a CB1100F come up for sale somewhere this month. It doesn't appear to be listed anymore, so I guess they got what they were asking (wasn't cheap)
Gotta say the 11 wasn't all that i wore one out back in 83 the FJ11 that replaced it was a significant upgrade near what the GSXR11 was to the Yamaha.
The 750F or 900F were better bikes and easier to live with.

The CB1100F was cooler than the CB900F and nobody will ever convince me otherwise

That said it is very unlikely I will ever pay collector prices for one. There was a tiny brief window in time where you could buy them for cheap, that time has passed

May I take the liberty of suggesting an alternative to the CB1100F? Although not as sexy and I have to admit the styling hasn’t aged so well but these were absolute bulletproof powerhouses in their day and this one looks exceptionally clean.

The GS1150s are all ugly as sin. Sorry not sorry

The problem with the 11F is that it is essentially a bored and stroked 750 with everything from the primary drive back overloaded and it showed.
I will say tho that i have some good memories of embarrassing loudmouthed V65 riders, i was good off the line and that always made them over rev their poor bike to the point of a very ugly loss.
PeeWee Gleason was one hell of a rider.
It was a lot of fun spanking folks that thought that engine meant more that skills.

I think my V65 Magna is still sitting in my brother in law’s garage. I have to check out what my neighbour has. He said his motorcycle was also faster, and it’s not a VMax.

The fact that PeeWee Gleason weighed about 115 pounds didn’t hurt either. I was pretty fast in high school on my GS750 when I weighed 115 pounds but yeah those Magnas were pretty quick,I didn’t encounter many though.

The Magna is also kinda of ugly but in a less offensive way... that commercial is rad though, we could use more of those

I remember in the early 80’s two guys going up Scarborough Golf Club Road at warp speed on a Magna V65 and T-boned a car , flipping it , killing the occupants as well as the rider and passenger. That incident sent shockwaves through the riding community and the police started to really crack down on sport bikes that summer. It was an absolutely horrific accident.

I love those 80's inline 4's, but he's way overpriced for everything on that ad. Any mods made to the GS1000 devalues it to collectors. I understand replacing sacked out, old suspension components. The aftermarket pipes on the GS and CB900F aren't even period correct.
I've had 2 CB1100Fs, 2 CB900Fs, 2 GS1100E, 2 GS1000 and still have a hot rod Cooley Clone and found the GS1000 was the least cool of the lot but the best bike.
Where's bitzz? He should be opining on the fours from this era.

Very nice, I think the UK got the red and white version if I’m not mistaken. There’s a guy in North Carolina that will do a GS1000S paint job if you provide the bodywork for just over $2000 US.

I really hope that extra mirror is screwed on because the glass in the original one is broken

2 for 1 deal. GZ250 & CBR600 for another 600cc bike

Everything about that ad is very... Welland. No phone and "pop in and ask for Jennifer or Jess" (while the ad is posted by Julie).

Meth makes all things seem possible, I guess. Including getting a working 600 in a trade for what once was a 600 and is in such disrepair even the scrap value is in the negative. So they're functionally asking for a working 600 and removal of some junk in exchange for a non-working 250. What a deal!
