But someone on a scooter can rip through there at full speed! Is your plate mounted properly? What is the plate search for?during my life in the area this road was 60, 50, 40 and for cameras they dropped it to 30, would it go to 20?! anything is possible lol
It's like a 407 plate lookup fee. You don't have a transponder so they need to search a database to convert your plate number into a name and address. They add that as a line item (and I assume a very profitable one for all involved). What is the plate search for?
I bet everyone already drives 20, they do around here were any cameras are they are moving 10 below the limit.during my life in the area this road was 60, 50, 40 and for cameras they dropped it to 30, would it go to 20?! anything is possible lol
That would be interesting. The cops in the camera center chuckling with glee as they fulfill their quota. They are doing construction in my area (for like the past year) and the other day I pulled up to a red light where police were directing traffic. The cop was waving me through, I pointed at the lights and shook my head. He got frustrated and walked over and said im waving you through, i replied you cant tell me to run a red, he said but im telling you too. I said but there is a camera! What happens in that case? I know moderators off topic!
You are technically required to follow the lawful orders of a peace officer. If they are controlling the intersection then you should be following them over the posted signs (signals). Court would be a fun one tho. They are doing construction in my area (for like the past year) and the other day I pulled up to a red light where police were directing traffic. I dunno what to say about that other than that's stupid.Received my first camera charge yesterday - Town of Georgina speed cameras (Church St. Westbound - West of Shoreline Pl.) def in operation now
38km/h in 30km/h Community Safety Zone - so much for whole "10 over" thing, so be aware..
$58.25 Total charge FYI (Includes "Victim Component Fee" $10 (wtf?) and Lic Plate search $8.25)
I've seen these in other smaller communities as well. Sometimes I forget to see the "coming soon" part and look around for the cameraI see a sign now posted at the forks that a camera will soon be coming
So they will be going after cyclists??I see a sign now posted at the forks that a camera will soon be coming
And it's down again. Although Toronto is not having to pay for the replacements, there are concerns that when the contract is next negotiated, city revenue will take a beating as suppliers will ensure a healthy safety net to cover all of the destroyed cameras.Parkside camera is up and down again.
TrailCam footage from May shows how the camera is chopped down with a Milwaukee reciprocating saw.

I was driving on a long straight four lane (plus centre turning lane) road last week with a 40 km/h speed limit, zero pedestrians and a speed camera. It was painful.I hope the local residents around Forks of the Credit enjoy their new 40 speed limit for the whole length of the "good" part, especially when that camera goes up.
I saw a Oakville works truck parked infront of one the other day and the guy was smiling while eating his lunch! So great! Needs some kind of award and bonus for his exemplary service to the community! In my travels on the daily basis, I am finding that alot more of these cameras are being vandalized. Especially the ones that are mobile and are planted on the ground.
