Something like a Honda Hornet 600F/599

Anything in the 250cc area? I know it's only a few hundred off insurance , but it's going to be a city bike. And if I cant get the bike I want; then rather save the money for when I can find it.

Your best bet was mentioned a few posts up - Bandit 400. They are a blast to ride, I had one for a season and should of never sold it. You should be able to find a nice one for $2000.

I'm on a fully naked first gen fz1 that looks just about the same and insurance isnt bad at all with Jevco..
 
The ER6N with a round headlight conversion looks pretty similar. Or you can make one out of a 650R. There's a few on riderforums.com

Why don't you just convert a 250r to a streetfighter? It'd be dirt cheap and you'd have something somewhat unique
