So, who got a ticket at L&L tonight?

I resent that. :)

I got lucky and the cop that was checking my papers and bike was more interested in talking about what he rides etc.. It took longer than it probably should have but I got lucky that he wasn't trying to find things to ticket me for.

Clearly the police were bent on reaching their month end ticket quota tonight.

I really don't see how they can ticket anybody on private property!

Did you get nailed?

For what?

Clearly you are misinformed... This was too late for quotas. Ticket quotas are due by the third weekend of every month to make the monthly stats report! Just kidding (thought I'ld clear that up too before some gullible person starts running away with another conspiracy theory).
Private Property? How did you get there? Carry your bike? Before you turned into the parking lot, we're you not on a road? This isnt some elementary school game you played at recess: if you make it to the parking lot you're safe! Police don't need to physically stop you on the road. They just have have proof you were driving on the road.
Besides all that I'm pretty sure the cops weren't there to get tickets. I think it was to do with the biker gangs who started showing up. Unless the cop I was talking to was lieing to me! I believe there is another thread about just that too !

something similar happened to my friends recently, only.. their bikes were towed also and they all got hta 172, even guys who were their first time, two guys on private property many hours after the fact which was alleged also same thing....all cases that would never stick in court as long as they get lawyers. and so should you guys. if you didn't know cops break more laws then the people they ticket, they know they can so they do it, everyone else just messes up an gets nailed for it, and they know this...the 2 percent TRY their best to uphold the law the rest of the cops try their best not to get caught breaking it, and the rest of the population gets nailed for accidently braking the law, and the others who do it on purpose because the can buy the law, either way the average tax payer gets rammed.

And that's exactly the result the cops were hoping for.

That is EAXCTLY the reason^^...someone ccomplained to the police hard!

and then

instead of doing the right thing and telling people to go away they raid and ticket, this gets two things done, the local residents and businessses to stop complaining and the cops quotas full and fat, its the end of the season, i already mentioned last week, be carful out there the cops are hungery because its seasons end, they won't be messing with anyone anymore, they usually stop around first week of september harrassing motorcycles....only to start again April-May, they only leave you alone June July, the let you have your fun, notice when you get the most tickets, always March, April, May, then nothing till August Sep etc. They have everything planned, and seasons, from september, they will start harrassing cars for winter, damn crooks everywhere.lol

First time I go in a year and it was swarming with cops. My bike is 100% legal but I ended up riding by to avoid the hassle. From what I saw on the outside the police posture was not "serve and protect" or work with the community it was a "we will hassle you for no good reason." Including the lame attempt at intimidation via the stink eye I got when I did not turn in.

This is a pet peeve of mine, they want everyone's help to solve crimes, work with them...etc. but at the same time they create animosity by doing things like this. Now maybe I am being unfair since I did not go in, please feel free to correct me if it was one big love fest and they were handing out free donuts....

No issue if they have a couple cops there to keep an eye on things. No issue if they just tell everyone to leave or turn people back at the entrance because the property manager is done with it (in all fairness likely due to a small handful of idiots). It looked like neither to me.

So the question is, where is the new Thursday hangout? Or are we going to power through and keep them tied up at L&L to cut down on street car shootings... (sorry couldn't resist).

This is why people run, plain and simple....just can't be bothered with the bs anymore, even if their all legit.

They even went hard in america this year, all the stunters got arrested and busted at the Ride of the century, they never got caught for 10 years. I think there was a government organized programme to take down sportbikers everywhere down a notch, same things are happeneing in america to bikers...to me its personally police rather show whos boss, then worry about 3 people getting shot, and few getting raped and kidnapped that night, then have sportbikers disrespect them.

Cops are an institution of arrogance and power, and you are to bow down to that, if you don't they will come after you and make you submit, and sportbikes and motorcycles are that, rebel, which they cannot have, they don't want people power, they want police power, police power is elite power, elite power is power in the hands of few. There is NO freedom anywhere, only an illusion, so i really don't feel sorry for people who cry about police misconduct, when they still think cops are actually out to protect and serve...the missing part...only the interestes of the superich elites who put them there.

why i left the police academy! all crooks serving crooks, except a few good ones out there, but too little good ones to make even a smudge of a difference!

I bet there's a lot more to that story. Whether it's true or not is another matter entirely.

You should have stayed you would have made a GREAT detective given that you were able to uncover this great conspiracy at the academy. Had you spent more than 15 minutes at an academy, you would have seen that there is NO "serving" of anything, CADETS don't enforce anything, they are there to learn and what one does at an academy has NOTHING to do with what actually happens on the real streets.

The purpose of an academy is to "test" ones resolve, under stressful situations to see how they react to highly stressful incidents. Better someone crack under the pressure in the academy then when they are working the streets. Given your rants and OBVIOUS LACK of knowledge of police tactics and procedures, I highly doubt you even passed the Psych tests...lol

For those who are curious as to how you can be ticketed on "private property", If the owner, (or an agent of the owner, which can include a tenant or property manager), requests enforcement, then the police have the same "ability" to charge as they would on a public road. Also certain offences, (equipment violations etc), can be written up even if the vehicle isn't on a "public road way" as can certain other "moving violations".

Now you state "their bikes were towed also and they all got hta 172, even guys who were their first time, two guys on private property many hours after the fact which was alleged also same thing....all cases that would never stick in court as long as they get lawyers. and so should you guys."

Please feel free to post when this happened as we have a few members here who can access court dockets and case laws so we would like more details so we can confirm if they are real or yet another case of you "stretching" the truth. Your posts on this forum are a joke at best, and somewhat dangerous to newer riders, given that your advice is run at the sight of a police car as they are all being driven by criminals who nail EVERY rider they see when it has been shown that MANY riders here ride MANY MANY years with not so much as a second look from police and zero enforcement.

So the question YOU need to ask is... Why am I getting so much attention from the Police, while others aren't? Couldn't be your attitude, riding style or the way you "present" yourself... Nope that can't be it it MUST be ALL COPS are crooked.

Your "theory" that cops have periods of increased enforcement, (late spring), and near end of season, is amazing. Hell most times you can barely get neighboring jurisdictions to talk to one another, (look up the Bernardo case), YET when it comes to motorcycles they are all on the SAME time frame and coordinated enforcement regimen... LMAO Now is there likely increased enforcement in the first couple of weeks?? Yes, because that is when MANY NEW riders hit the streets and those who are still noobs from last season get cabin fever, go out and do STUPID things.

It is unfortunate for the riding community that you choose to take up riding. You are exactly the type of posting troll that creates within others the same warped mentality that you have. In the end, you give riders everywhere such a bad reputation, that many of work hard everyday to improve. Hopefully you keep your diluted rantings, limited to this forum and don't spew them to the general public as you would do more damage to the perception of the public to riders, in 5 minutes, than 100 of us "good riders" could repair in years.

**Coles Notes**

2WET doesn't know what he's talking about and if he acts like that in public he is doing irreparable damage to our stellar reputations as riders.

2wet was in police academy? How come those movies are funny yet he is not :dontknow:

If he'd called it the "College" instead of the Academy, there might have been a snowball's chance in hell I'd believe the whole thing wasn't B.S. Look it up next time, Hightower. :)

the reason they were there is because too many useless tools annoy the property owners/renters plus the people living around. every time i've been to l&l there's some one bouncing the bike off a rev limiter, often there's some one doing silly stunts and many rev the heck out of their bikes leaving. I think one time some one was doing a burn out...

plus often with all the bikes there there is no parking left for legitimate customers, which is why the parking lot is there in the first place.

Just wondering here because I've read for a long time on GTAM about noise, oil, litter, etc. Has anybody ever suggested asking the store owner what charity the chain supports and passing around the hat on their behalf? Broker the peace a little and put a +ve spin on the thing.

I don't think that's a horrible idea. As mentioned in this thread somewhere before 2wets fully fictional novel, I assume the cops were there more because of the "gangs" I'm doubting the property owner would be upset with 3-400 customers in his tim hortons every thursday night :dontknow:

I found a pic of him getting mad. Maybe this was just before he quit

im sure hortons love thursday night, it's the grocery store that doesnt like having their lot taken by non customers. the gathering likely scares off a good bit of their thursday business.
