Should I change my oil again or is it overkill???

Oil viscosity is a function of the length of the long chain hydrocarbons. So now I'm "learning" that long chain hydrocarbons can break down by just sitting there and doing nothing?! Science!!!

my oil was in a supertanker for 3 months coming from Saudi, it was in the hold with 9 billion other liters of oil and I'm not sure they all got along, it was hot and humid and the unrest surrounding the Suez Canal upset a few remaining liters that were in the hold from an Alaskan trip last yr.
Can I trust this oil or should it be changed for Pennzoil ? I'd feel more comfortable with an American oil, they make gun oil also so I am taking that into account.

While your oil is busy not losing viscosity it is also not turning into acid or losing its lubricating properties.

I got a similar question I am hoping you guys can help me out with.

I got my ninja 250 brand new April 2013 and have only put on 75km on it. I haven't changed the oil yet and was wondering if I needed to before riding this year?

Thoughts?

not really, he only put 75km on the oil and then it sat, so more or less the same as putting the bike away for winter storage as the OP

what the manual states is correct, but that is based on the bike being used and ridden, you might hit the mileage way before you hit the time, or the other way around, but again it's only 75km, more or less barely used....

OP do as you wish, but I don't see a need, now unless your using cheap oil and it's easy on the pocket book go for it, but if your using some of the expensive stuff, well it's your money.....

just my thoughts....

Sorry I missed that (brand new) I would talk to the dealership/service center and see what they recommend, I wouldn't want him to lose out on warranty by any means

Your bike and oil is fine . Save your money and don't change it.

Ride it once and change it. The oil will have lots of metal filings from the new engine breaking in.
