Shipping outside of GTA

Hi

I'm looking to buy a motorcycle that's in Oakville. The bike is rare and i'm debating on buying site unseen.

I've requested a quote from one company so far and haven't heard back yet.

Bike would be going from Oakdale to the East side of Kingston/CFB Kingston area. weekend/sunday ok.

Any idea what shipping should be around? $25 for gas and timmes? haha but seriously? probably be looking at 3hrs non stop one way just 401.

I'm guessing $50 to load and $1 per km. Ask Motolimo or one of the companies that specialize in bikes. $25 for gas? I guess you were joking.

yes I'm joking about the $25 parts. As gas a lone for me from Markham to Kingston is $40 in a van one way.

One way from Oakville to Kingston is roughly 300km

Lots of people on kijiji will do it.. but if it is indeed rare, you might want to consider a company with insurance.

Or if possible, go ride it back home. If too uncomfortable, get a night at a hotel for less than $150, and still come out on top vs shipping with a company.

What is the rare bike?

Why not ride it from Oakville. It's not like its a cross country trip.

It's more of time which I don't have.

Yeah there's lots of people on kijiji, but who can I trust that won't disappear or whatever.

Bike is a non runner at the moment as I just talked to the owner and it hasn't started in the last 10 years.

Main reason for a company to transport is I don't have a weekend / time to spare.

Maybe it's just me, but when I buy anything of value/rarity I make sure the shipping is insured and done through a reputable company.
I wouldn't try and nickle and dime this one. Motolimo and thetoyhauler are quite reputable (as far as I hear).

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

+1, don't get some guy of the interweb or a kijidiot. They are not insured, and/or they will just drive off with it.

99% of the kijiji guys will allow you to sit shotgun the entire way there-and-back if you are afraid they'll ride off..

Lol.. Right...

That's how much it costs to ship from nova Scotia in a crate..

Do the math, 600 - 650 km round trip, plus load and unload bike.

8 hours easy. 150 for gas and it leaves you with 250. That leaves you with 31 an hour for vehicle plus the person's time.

Even new canadians in brampton dont haul for that cheap
