Severed Cat heads.

btw.. Milton By-law.Cats do not require registration or a license, however; every owner of a cat must have a collar with the owner's name and address permanently inscribed. Cat owners must ensure that their pets do not run at large and follow all other guidelines according to the Animal Control By-law.

No owner shall permit his or her animal to trespass or to be at large in any public place or on private property without the consent of the property owner.

I've lived in the Milton area for years and to the best of my recollection this has never been enforced in town. We have bylaw officers and I have nieghbours with cats wandering around all the time and have for years. No issue here since I have large dogs.

now if we could figure out how to get the raccoons, opossums , and the crop of skunks out of town , that would be helpful

Are we comparing animals to 2 year old children now. WTF is wrong with people today? Its a freaking cat! You want to make a child/animal comparison? Fine, cats take naturally to outdoors like infants take to soiling themselves.

This is my signature

To some people their pets are treated like children

Hope that attitude goes both ways when instead of sending his dog out, he shoots the pests.

No he isn't. Keep your ****ing pests indoors where they belong in 2013.

If a domesticated cat walking on your driveway angers you so much, how do you handle ANY other animal on your property? Must be ******** yourself when you see a mouse walk by. Hope you have plenty of clean underwear.

Also when you say "you" are you referring to me? Cause I clearly stated earlier that I never let my pets out wandering alone. If they're outside, they're on a leash.

Even bunmanchi hasn't gone so far as suggesting shooting other peoples pets. You must be a hick.

It doesn't anger me. As a pet lover it confuses me. I love my pets, therefore I care about them and don't let them run wild in the streets.

I don't even know who you are.

I did grow up in a trailer park, so I guess I'm a little bit hick. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything though. I would never go into someone's house and shoot their pet.

cats are annoying, dogs barking are annoying, birds ******** on my car are annoying, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, etc etc etc

its part of living in a neighbourhood. A call to bylaw? Maybe. A concerned word to an owner/parent? Sure.

SHOOTING wildlife? Severing heads? Seriously? Why are you living within 20km of human beings if you're that sensitive that you feel lethal force is the answer?

It doesn't take much to take care of a cat so you don't really need to try...

Cat - Free to a few thousand $ (If you want exotic/rare ones)
Litter box - $20
Litter - $10 / 1-2months
Food - $30 for a few months

All 3 of my cats learned how to use the litter box within a min of introducing the box (literally just dropped them in the box). All 3 were strays.

Its also quite comical how you're the only one in this whole thread that thinks this way.

My Kids love cats, the wife is very allergic to them.,I am as well, but can tollerate them.

and Im not the only one. I just find it odd that out of every animal you can have, only cat owners think its their right to allow them to roam outside.

there is a By-law, but it is never enforced.

the point that you are totally missing, is that theres nothing you can really do about wild Animals doing what they do..
But People who have PET CATS can !! Pet cats shouldnt be outside. they are your Pets. not everyone elses., so why should everyone else have to deal with them ?

What if you feed their cat lots of fattening foods or give them cat nip or food that makes the cat get the runs...lol

And different pets have different needs. Cats were not bred to be lap pets that are happy just to sit there and do nothing. They never lost their hunting instincts - it may have been toned down and they may be really bad at it, but the instinct is there all the same (ever twitch a piece of string at them? They'll try and stalk it.)

It's the same reason why you wouldn't treat a teacup chihuahua the same way you treat a border collie. They're both dogs, yes, but if you think you can keep a border collie indoors all day you are in for a very nasty chewed-up house surprise. For the singular reason that collies are, and always have been, bred for the outdoors. Different pets, different needs.

My cat stays indoors but she's kind of a gimp. She doesn't really have interest in going outside either. I can leave the door wide open.

Other neighbours let theirs roam around and its kinda bull**** IMO. If you want a pet, take care of the damn thing. The guy across from me has a 20' leash and ties his cat to the tree... The little bastard loves it. You can leash train a cat.

btw.. Im still waiting for someone to explain why their Cat deserves to run around free at night, being a nuscience ?

why cant you just keep your pets indoors ?

If you feel that a cat shouldnt be locked up inside a house , why did you buy it ?

My last cat was born before the so called by laws came in to effect. She was always an outdoor cat, lived in Newmarket where there was a significant population of squirrel and chipmunks. Needless to say after a few years, it was no longer a problem. Neighbour across the street loved my cat, kept the unwanted guests out of his garage. Once a cat has tasted/lived in the outdoors, it's hard to keep them inside.

Our cats are indoor pets but I have had cats in the past that were outdoor. The indoor cats are constantly scheming to get outside, that is just the way cats are.

Cities are becoming more and more strict about cats going outside and there is no shock at the same time we see more and more rodent problems.... But at least the birds are happier.
